This is a very basic recipe - great for folks who are new to canning.
Wash core, peel and slice apples. Gently boil apples in simple syrup for 5 minutes.
(Simple syrup = 3 1/4 cup sugar dissolved in 5 cups water.)
Pack hot apples in hot jars leaving ½ inch head space. Process 20 minutes adjusting for altitude.
