I just made 7 quarts of BBQ Pulled Pork and 1 quart and half of sauce left over which I'm canning to. The whole house smells so good. I'm going to have some tomorrow. I know it's going to be good. Thanks for this suggestion.

I really appreciate how you put the ingredients under the description box. I'm able to quickly see if I have all the ingredients. Or at the store I can pick up what I need rather than having to go through the video for it like I have to with other Canners who I'm subscribed to. So thank you. I last night I followed your Chicken Tortillas Soup recipe. I like to open a jar the next day of whatever I make and taste test to decide if I want to make more. and it was delicious!

I also love the bean recipe. Being a newbie, I filled jars to 2/3 full not realizing how much the beans would expand! Everything sealed fine but didn't have as much sauce as I would like. My mistake, so today I will be making just the sauce, which is delicious, so that when I use the beans I will have extra sauce to add. I will definately make again being mindful about the amount of beans I use.

I am just preparing to make this recipe. I cut the pork and made the sauce. The sauce tastes fabulous. I did add the liquid smoke. Also added mesquite granules, smoked paprika, chili powder, oregano and some ancho chili powder. It isn’t hot. I don’t like hot. We live in Tex-Mex country so pulled pork is a big deal and my husband’s favorite. Thank you for the sauce recipe from scratch!!

Most of the canning I have done has been vegetables I grew myself, years ago when I was a stay at home Mom. After I began working full time, I didn't have time to garden and can. I have made some jams and marmalades, that are so much better than store bought. I enjoy seeing you can baked beans and pulled pork. It gives me inspiration to break out the canner and use it again!

I'm so glad I found this video. I followed what someone else did on KZbin, and my chicken came out so dry. She crockpoted her chicken with the barbecue sauce, then pressure canned it on 75 minutes. This makes it twice cooked, and my chicken ended up so dry. I feel like that's $20 bucks gone down the drain.😩 Since I don't like to be defeated by a recipe, I thought I'd try again, and so I stumbled upon your video while searching for another method. I'm giving this another shot this weekend. I pray that it works out well.

I wanted to follow up, as I made this a few weeks ago. I pulled some out today. The meat is a little different in texture than what you'd be used to for pulled pork. I used mine to make nachos, and because there were different textures in there, this was the PERFECT thing to use it for. I made a 6 inch cast iron pan of nachos, enough for two, and have enough to make either one sandwich or more nachos for one. I will definitely can this again. This is a great thing to have on hand, and make nachos for a guest in 20 minutes.
@Michelle-oz1jc4 жыл бұрын
Also - I say it's different in texture, and this is mainly because you can it in chunks. I used forks to sort of pull it apart.

just a quick tip.. after you emptied the ketchup and went to the vinegar.. i would have poured the vinegar into the emptied ketchup measuring cup and stirred it to get out all the ketchup and then same to the honey and then pour the vinegar.. basically saving the vinegar for last of the 3 ingredients to basically get all the leftover goodness that is just wasted tho it isn't much, but why waste it?.. most people don't think of things like that. same would go for sauce cans / jars and such..

So I've got my barbecue pulled pork in the pressure canner waiting to put the weights on. I tasted the sauce first before adding the meat and found that it tasted like a catalina salad dressing that I used to make as a salad dressing, so I added more brown sugar to it, and some fiesta blend chili seasoning because I didn't have liquid smoke. This made taste more like barbecue sauce for me. I also tripled the recipe, because I saw in one of your videos that you said to add a tad more sauce, plus I had more meat. So I ended up with 8 pints. I know this is going to turn out well for me, plus I prayed. Next up your better than Bushes baked beans recipe.🥰

I'm new to your channel and just wanted to say how much I appreciate that your videos are for canning things you have already tried and tasted. So many you tube canners are showing something they are trying for the first time, and you rarely find out how it turned out (taste, applicable uses) other than how the final jar looks. I'm a new-ish canner (almost a year, but many, many canning sessions) and have to say that I never mind the extra instructions - when I was newer, I really wanted to see that info, and now I just fast forward through the parts I feel comfortable with. Also, I don't mind your noisemakers, since I have one of my own and totally understand how that goes.

Just opened my first canned pulled pork with this recipe. As a Texan we are bbq snobs. I admit it🤣 it! I just didn’t think it had that deep Texan umami flavor that I am used to. Next time I am putting on a rub and using a purchased bbq sauce. This definitely needs the onions, garlic, liquid smoke etc. I added mesquite flakes and some creole seasoning after opening and more salt. The diy rub has everything else including smoked paprika that I am using next go around. By the time I shredded and thickened and added more flavor it was good. I had too much liquid. My husband liked it and that was my goal.
@carol-thriftychichousewife62312 жыл бұрын
I agree it’s not like fresh made but few canned items are. Just be careful adding things prior to canning as it could make it unsafe. Make sure any dry rub or commercial sauce you use is free from anything not safe for canning such as thickeners which is a common additive.
