Excellent video! Great pointers and thank you so much for the added warning to be careful with the hot mixture! As an RN I’ve seen a couple of really nasty burns from canning things such as this.😊

Have found that going right to the cheese cloth after boiling works good. No seed get though. 4 layer of cloth works good. Nice clean juice.

Awesome, I’ll do that next time.😊

Thank you for the video. Looks like an awesome recipe and I’ll certainly try it. I really wish you would’ve opened one of the smaller jars to let us see the consistency and the final product that would’ve been very very helpful that makes a difference for people canning jellies if it’s too runny or too thick, that allows us to make adjustments accordingly. The great video thank you so much.

Thanks so much for watching. That's a great idea about sampling the jar for viewers sake, I'll do that in the future.😊

This is brilliant! Thank you for sharing! Did you end up with 6 cups raspberry juice to decide the 6 cups of sugar?
@RisasBlessedLife Жыл бұрын
The recipe I used called for 8 cups and by the time I strained the seeds out, I had roughly 6 cups. The recipe also called for 6 cups of sugar. It's very good, and not too sweet.

I Find the best way to remove the seeds is to freeze dry the berries, rub them through a fine mash colander. No product is lost. I keep the seeds for nutrition and or planting. Yes, they still germinate. And I don’t have to destroy the raspberries in a boil. I can’t keep the powder and mix it with raw honey.

That's a great idea! ☺️

I guess the extra water helps in the seed separation. If you want a normal jam with seeds, use a potato masher first, and then the product will be liquid enough to boil without the need of the water. Water reduces the sugar concentration, and the maximum temperature the pot can reach. Don't crushed seeds with the blender negatively affect the taste? It's also a bit hard to have the wire strainer and cheesecloth perfectly clean. You can use a ladle or a small sauce pot with a flat lip to pour accurately without mess. A folded edge makes the liquid not drip down the side.

Hint use a ladle instead of of a coffee cup and it’s still messy but not as bad

You don’t need pectin, raspberries are naturally high in pectin no need to add it

Please, oh PLEASE, put your mic in direct line to your mouth to avoid muffling of your voice! I worked for 35 years as a sound mixer and this stuff drives me cuh-RAZY! It does other people too but they’re just sitting there wondering why they can’t understand you…

I find the best way to record sound is not to bury the little black thingie that takes the sound (now this gets a little technical so bear with me) and puts the sound of the on-camera person on the recording medium without covering it up (or as we like to call it, muffling the sound). Do you want to force your viewers to turn on closed captioning merely because the don’t understand your directions? Yeah, I don’t think you actually cared enough to watch your own KZbin videos…or more importantly, LISTEN!🧏😢

Thank you so much for your helpful advice, and the very kind way you gave it. Just so you know, this was a voice over and the mic was, in fact, in the direct line of my mouth. However, this was soon after I started my channel, and I was still learning. The mic I was using, I no longer use, for the very reason you, again, so kindly pointed out. I've worked on the kinks, and I'm very pleased with the 3000 plus viewers of the video. Thank you for your input.
