We are so lucky to live in a country that we can explore remoteness like this. I watch videos from people who live in Europe, they have extensively outfitted self-sufficient vehicles and have no chance of being truly remote in their own country. How lucky are we... Great video as usual. Thank you...

Good vid Stef, really enjoyed this series. What's behind the sudden increase in quality? Is it new equipment or just been studying the art more? The water thing is bullcrap tho

Great video. One thing though. Every time you see a broken camper trailer you say that its "another good reason why trailers should stay at home", but you never say that about 4wds when come across broken down ones. A trailer can be taken many places as long as its a from a good manufacturer and well maintained.
@AlloffroadAu5 жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick, while I agree with you that a good off road trailer can be taken many place by a person who understand how to tow and is experienced towing, my personal experience on my Travels is that many people I meet don't have the experience or the trailer to do it properly. But yes, not well prepared cars are as much as an issue.

I met you at Georgia Bore as you were coming out from Rudal. We were about to go in. Have thoroughly enjoyed your videos. You have included a lot of the side track features, which i haven't really seen on other peoples video's, which is great. Well done. Would be the best KZbin videos I've watched of the Canning. Commentary and content great.

Water to the brain...? I’m confused. Does the book you bought tell you that water you drink go to your brain? The organs you refer to also include the brain, as it also is an organ. The most central organ actually. The brain is fed by bloodstream, like all other organs, and hydration increases blooodflow as it lowers viscosity of the blood. You simply cannot drink water to feed organs with water, organs need blood flow. Furthermore all organs are fed by arterial bloodstream, supplying oxygen and sugar. The body will supply all the organs, the brain included. It simply does not “starve” the brain and feed the other organs because dehydration. Just a little medical info ;) Anywho.... Fantastic progress in filming quality and editing Stephan, you have seriously developed your skills and the results speak for themselves. Thank you. A wind sock and a lapel mic however is something you should seriously consider. Happy touring mate, fair dinkum!

I'm no Dr but this non-sipping made sense to me here is what Bob says: Some have died from dehydration with water still in their water bottle. Why? Because when they were nearly out of water they started sipping on their dwindling supply, trying to make it last longer, but sipping does not prevent dehydration. When you sip water, first that small amount will be engaged with food digestion in your stomach, then your kidneys and liver will rob the remaining millilitres, leaving absolutely none for your brain to absorb and use to function properly. In my opinion, the practice of sipping water must be the biggest single cause of dehydration in our great outdoors. The water in your stomach is always better for you than the water in your bottle. You should drink water at a rate of at least one full standard cup (250 millilitres) each time you drink. In other words, instead of taking 200 small sips from a two-litre supply, I suggest drinking that 2 litres in eight good cupfuls. (You may sip the cupful, but consume it in the same amount of time you Cooper, Bob. Outback Survival . Hachette Australia. Kindle Edition.

Stephan, there are too many inaccuracies in Bobs excerpts to get into in a comment section on YT, but he is simplifying it to the point where is becomes incorrect. Even if he is onto something... Anyway, stay hydrated. I concur on that fact :)

I'm curious how you had beer at Lake Disappointment after passing through Parrngurr...............buried a stash somewhere?
@AlloffroadAu5 жыл бұрын
no need to , as a travel you are exempt and you can fill up or re-stock fuel or what you need. Obviously the few beers we had were all well packed away in the vehicle and not visible. You should check for each area as some community have limits you can carry in your vehicle.

Love your videos mate. Just want to give you some feedback though. For me personally, music is really offputting in travel videos. I would rather listen to the raw audio, sound of engine etc. Cheers
@AlloffroadAu5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, raw engine sound from a GoPro does not sound well and any drone footage has no sound at all so that makes keeping it all natural difficult but I can see the appeal.
