Hi John I did the CSR in June 2015 and boy it was wet and we had to camp a few days till it dry up a bit, it was a great trip and I loved every bit, we may think it long and hard and it is but I would do it again in a 4x4 but I would not do it the way Canning did it, it was a major trip for his crew.

The Oztent is a brilliant piece of kit. It is a standard inclusion in our roof tray whenever we go 4wdriving overnight or on a long trip. Best Aussie invention ever. Well, maybe competing with vegemite and the Ozpig..

I was a month behind you and as you say it was great trip I would go again if I get a chance.

Stephen Hutton in bigezi, Hi guys our group took to the Canning in October of 2015 and it was interesting to see places I recognised under water as when we past through it was bone dry and down right hot. Due to mechanical failures of others in the group I only made it as far as Kunawarritji but intend to have another crack at it in August of 2017.By they way I would like to congratulate you on a really well presented video it's one of the best I've seen on the CSR. Travel safe, regards S. Hutton

My wife, son and daughter in law are planning on doing the CSR . I will be using my tried and trusted Toyota V8 4runner with 120 litr tank plus plus spare jerry cans of fuel and 150 litre drinking water. The other half are using their D4D Prado to carry the food etc. We have 60 second tent and mattresses , the others have swags etc. Could be an interesting trip. The 8runner ( Has a V8 hence the 8runner ) will have five new tyres fitted and winch will be replaced . Enough food and fuel to last 4 weeks. After that who knows where next. Its been an ambition of mine for years and now it looks like being fulfilled maybe next year

sounds good. have fun.

We certainly will ,providing there is not a lot of rain out there . This year most of not all the roads and tracks have been closed due to the unseasonal weather in the Outback

Hope you have fun, just take it easy and slow
@steinwaygrande39718 жыл бұрын
Believe me slow is the best way, unless you want to break your vehicle. Time is not important when you are out in the bush.

great video .how did the Prado hold up
@juanford7 жыл бұрын
The Prado had a lot of weight in it as demonstrated by the fact it managed 30L/100km. (100series turbo diesel 16lph) Had a couple of goes at some steep hills and lost a few bits along the way,. Driven sensibly I would have no fear of taking one.

its a whole heap of caterpillars following each other, joined nose to tail, across the road.

A hairy caterpillar train. They burst out of their cocoon and take off following each other. All in the name of breeding.

great video but you could have made it better by putting each camp/waterholes on the maps, it would have put us with you
