After many months and thousands of KM on the 2019 Cannondale Systemsix, what is the verdict?
After competing in the Tour du Mont Blanc, complete with 333km and 8400m climbing it has been pushed well beyond what Cannondale would expect most aero bikes to be ridden.

Great review. Great upgrades. I think your front tire is mounted backwards.

I've had mine for 2 years now and have roughly 6,000 miles on it. I absolutely love it. Its a bit on the heavy side but overall I love it! Wish there were accommodations for a tool kit. I'd love to switch mine over to Di2. I've went to a larger rear cassette for climbing and put new brake pads on it.

My 2nd Generation System Six 60cm (Dura Ace Non-Hi Mod) weighs a whopping 23.6 lbs and is a tank but does pretty well in semi rolling hills here in my area of south central Pa. I also have a Cannondale Evo (Hi-Mod) for the bigger hills. I might add that I've had it for a little over a year now and it's got a LOT of miles put on it in that one year timeframe. Seems like a great bike aside from it being extremely heavy but from the pros vs cons you do save on output wattage due to its aerodynamic features.

How do you find the gap between the top of the forks and the frame, given there looks a big open gap when you turn the bars etc. does it retain water when out in the rain or cleaning as doesn't look like there's anything to stop it going down what looks a big gap, plus looks like nowhere for it to drain if it does?
@MattPage
@MattPage 4 жыл бұрын
No problems noticed at all. It's only a very small gap/hole, not the full section under the fork that you might think.

How’s the sizing in this bike? I have a giant defy that’s 55.5cm from crack to the top of the seat tube. Would you recommend sizing up to a 56 or down?
@MattPage
@MattPage 4 жыл бұрын
Difficult to gauge as I have no ridden a Defy for a long time. But in Giant I am a M, in Cannondale a 54cm.

As a fairly light rider 55kg and use to riding a 6.5kg bike (pedals/cages/mounts) how do you think changing to something which is approx 2kg more (for a mid range areo bike) will have an effect on riding?
@MattPage
@MattPage 3 жыл бұрын
Well I took this over a Specialized S-Works Tarmac at 6.8kg to the Alps for the Tour du Mont Blanc which has 8400m of climbing. I'm 62-64kg and it was brilliant, no regrets.

Are the knot 64 wheels compatible with other bike frames?
@MattPage
@MattPage 4 жыл бұрын
Assuming the same axles, then yes. They will come with 100x12mm front and 142x12mm rear axles.

Hey @Matt, i am considering buying this bike as well. On the Cannondale Website this Bike is 7.8kg (with ultegra DI2 and the Hollowgram Wheelset). In this video your bike has other wheels and a different bar and stem. Does your bike wheigh 7.4kg with paddles and bottle cages?
@MattPage
@MattPage 3 жыл бұрын
Can't find an up to date weight, but I can say that when it was new and with very different parts it was 7.990kg. It is probably more than 7.4kg with cages, but not 100% sure.

Great Video! I have made similar experience on my SystemSix (same Dura-Ace mechanical model). In the end, how much did you spend on the upgrades (excluding the wheels)?
@MattPage
@MattPage 4 жыл бұрын
The parts have been transferred from another bike. But I think net cost of DA di2 and selling DA mechanical will be ~£1000.

168cm, bit shorter than you. Inside leg 76cm. Do prefer a longer front than many similar height. Also consider the seat post used. I will soon switch to one with less layback, to move further forward.

The wheels on the bike there was a temporary change, the bike is still using the standard KNOT 64 wheels.

What is the real max tire clearance ? Is there room for a real 32mm tire ?
@MattPage
@MattPage 4 жыл бұрын
No, 32mm would be too big and to be honest, it's not a bike designed to take or benefit from such wide tyres.

@MattPage

@@richardstoffel6585 personally I'd stick to 25c if using the Hollowgram wheels as they will size up.
