Just put rims back on( 24in Grand Prix) thanks to this video. Followed all the instructions In this video to complete the job. Was my first time welding. I practice on a old strut From a junk yard before I got started. I also had a Milwaukee dremel to do the cutting.

That's a better way than what I've seen people do the bottom of the strut braket adding the extra hole to move strut up

That’s not a better way. That will push your axels down and have them in a bind and cause them to pop/break. The only time you lift the bottom of a strut is if your going 28s or bigger and you’re dropping the subframe to level the the axels out. For anything 26s and under lift from the bottom Is not the way to do it.

Longer shocks and longer springs, or you can simply cut the brackets from the axles (might be called something else I'm not a native english speaker) put something where they were (like metal blocks) and simply weld the brackets on top.

So you don’t have to do anything to the bolt holes to extend the bottom of the strut.

Nope to lift the bottom you have to slide that whole piece down not just the holes

There really is no safe way most spindles now are cast you shouldn't weld that, easier to find a light truck or SUV and swap everything over.

all struts wear out over time no matter if their modified for rims or stock, but they all wear out and needs to be replace between 5 to 7 years of driving. So I'm trying to see what is the point you're trying to make?
