Water rides are arguably the most popular ride at amusement parks on hot summer days. Then the elite ones are so good you'll ride them in any weather. In this video, I countdown my top 25 favorite water rides in the entire world. This list will include log flumes, river rapids rides, water coasters, and a few other unique rides.

Stormforce10 at Drayton manor is an incredible water ride. The queue is ornately themed. The backwards drop might be the wettest point on a water ride and it ends with a spectacular double-down over the lake.

My one and only ride on Splash Mountain (FL) this summer was also my first and only evac - our log stopped at the Brer Bear animatronic that's on its back with the beehive on his head and we got to listen to that sound effect for about 10 minutes before we were lead off the ride and given water and a fast-pass to almost any ride. Shame I'll have to wait a few more years at least to try again, and by then it may finally be rethemed (not sure what the status is on that these days). It's awesome that a little park like Phantasialand can have two of the top 10 water rides; I've heard great things about Chiapas and its drop.

I say jarassic river adventure, no question. Amazing theming, and in the back, you get not too soaked, and the drop has sustained flojector pop, around the same feeling as a B&m drop with a great stomach dropping sensation

Thank you for including Zoom Phloom! It's a fun ride even if it's a bit jerky and the dark ride section "Under the Boardwalk" is tacky but cute. It's my family's tradition to go through that part singing along with the music. Morey's is severely underrated. It seems to get written off as just "another" boardwalk park on the Jersey shore, especially with Great Adventure a little over an hour away. But they really do have a nice collection of top-notch rides, including this great flume, a fun woodie and better examples of SLC and Boomerang than most!

My favorite is Dudley Do-Right. It is so fast-paced, visually pleasing, thrilling, and way more fun than Splash Mountain.

Obviously it's all subjective but I find the theming on Ripsaw Falls to be a bit underwhelming. I'm actually a HUGE fan of the old Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons and their spin offs such as Dudley Do- Right and I understand that the theming is intentionally minimalistic to match the minimalist style of the old cartoon. But I think that they went too far with that idea and built sets that are incomplete. It's weird because this stands in stark contrast to the wonderfully garish ride facade they built. It is a fantastic ride with some thrilling elements, comic moments and lots of water. But I do wish the theme was more consistent and fleshed out. On the other hand I find Splash Mountain to be a more seamless and well paced experience. The mountain itself looks like it could exist in the stories of Brer Rabbit. And the dark ride segments are top notch and they all build to the climax well. I especially think the music elevates the ride. And the multiple drops, including the indoor drop in the dark with a bunny hill, really make it a satisfying experience. I'm not saying you're wrong to like Ripsaw Falls more. That's a matter of personal taste. But I'm just giving you my perspective on what I think makes Splash Mountain a superior ride.

Frozen Ever After was a very welcomed surprise when we visited a year ago. It was truly a captivating experience. It was one of my favorite new memories at Disney.

I saw this video come up in my queue and I had to watch out curiosity to see if my all-time favorite water ride made the list, and surprisingly it did!!! Thank you so much for including the Zoom Phloom on Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, NJ!!! As a native Jersey Girl, I have been riding this ride since forever! Our family religiously went on vacation to Wildwood every summer, and no trip to the boardwalk was ever complete until my brother, sister, and I rode that log flume!!! The second drop is absolutely spectacular!!! And now as a grown adult with a family of my own, we still have to ride the Zoom Phloom whenever we get down to Wildwood. And as another commenter mentioned, you should do a video on the rides of Morey’s Piers. They’re one of the reasons why Wildwood’s Boardwalk is one of the best in the world!!!🤩🤩🤩

On a nice hot day of you want some water, water rides are probably the perfect go to. I love water coasters the most, then log flumes, then river rapids. Of corse we aren't including water slides. But every park, especially one that gets hot in the summer should have a water ride of some sort.

For me, river rapids rides are the best because my whole family will go on them and it's a communal laugh riot. For so many thrill rides and even some dark rides, I end up doing them solo because nobody will go on them with me. But these I can share.

I love water rides and we have so few (good ones) in the UK. I'm most excited about Jurassic Park, but I absolutely love Chiapas. My partner and I went in September so we rode it all afternoon without getting off the boat. It's the second best ride at Phantasialand, after Taron, just before Die Gieste Rickshaw, which we both loved for its weirdness (and calming effect after hitting Taron too hard).

I feel nostalgic to 24 which is now known as excalibur. I did not ride the current version, but i still remember the day, where it was a proper rafting ride and had more animatronics and so on. I am still a bit sad that this ride got tame.

Best river rapids ride is always going to be Mystic River Falls at Silver Dollar City. The theming and the ride are perfect. The elevator lift is so different to any other rapid ride I've ever been on.

Hard to decide between Valhalla, Chiapas, and Popeyes. All 3 excel at different things. Ill need to re ride Splash Mountain one day as it did absolutely nothing for me but that's everything at Disney. A few of these I'm now a bit sad that I skipped as now knowing more about them makes them rides I want to ride. Great list!

God this reminds me the only ride that ever terrified me was Pilgrim’s Plunge when I was like 12. Not the drop, just that elevator and the way it had to shimmy to the side to pass the other side of the lift was haunting when you are a kid

I’m so excited for Valhalla reopening. I remember being evaced off the year it opened, I was on a school trip and got a load of free ride tickets (BPB did have wristbands then but the school wouldn’t pay for them so we got tickets, IIRC The Big One was at least 6 “A” ones).

I've only seen POVs but the log flume at toverland looks pretty cool. Goes forwards and backwards, has indoor and outdoor parts, and has a literal turntable in the middle of a lift hill that turns you from backwards to forward.

It is a shame the darkride portion is so short though.. if it was as ling as on Symbolica, and the coaster was more thrilling, it would be the perfect ride imo!

I love water rides and great video too! If you could do another video with more water rides, could you please include the name(s), country(ies), town or city, and the park's name? I am familiar with some of the water ride(s), like the one at Knott's Berry Farm in California even though I have never been to the park. I have seen the water ride on several KZbin videos and I hope that someday, you will be able to ride the ones that you have not ridden on before, so that you can have video footage for us in the future. Especially video footage of Legend Of The Labyrinth Lagunasia, if you can find one on here. Sometimes, people will let you use their video(s) as long as you give them credit at the end and/or put the username at the top or bottom of the video if KZbin will allow it. My favorite water ride is the Journey To Atlantis at Sea World in Orlando, Florida and I have been on it twice in the same day. Hopefully, I can go on it again someday, but I will just have to enjoy it on KZbin until then(lol).

I've ridden all of the attractions on this list. I only took photos prior to 2020, which is why I don't have video footage of some of the older rides. Very few people have been to Lagunasia, so there wasn't much footage for that ride. Theme Park Review has a POV though.

Thunder Canyon -Dorney Park Was really expecting this one here, it’s the best rapids ride, literally go thru 20 waterfalls and it’s super long

Splash Mountain HAD to be number one. I mean, nothing else is on that level. I'm glad to see the Log Chute getting some love as well. It's the best ride at the Mall of America by far. I know you've said you are undwhelmed by Timber Mountain Log Ride's final drop but I'm still surprised to see it so low. One ride I'd like to give some credit to is Escape from Pompeii. After the first time I rode that I felt that every other Shoot the Chute (except Jurassic Park) was really wasted potential. I get that most parks can't build something like Jurassic Park River Adventure but Escape from Pompeii uses a normal layout with a simple short dark ride section. The facade and that dark ride portion really elevate the experience and I don't think such additions are WAY beyond the means of most parks. It's just another example of taking something simple and making it great. It's also another example of why BGW is such an excellent park.

@@CanobieCoaster I don't necessarily think your list needed Pompeii. I just bring it up because I think it is an example of taking a simple idea and making it grand. Shoot the chute rides in the 80s and 90s were like the Vekoma Boomerang of water rises. They're simple, they are straightforward to build, they have an understandable appeal and gimmick and they require less effort to build and maintain than other water rides. But BGW took this overused concept and essentially fixed it. From a ride stand point it is no more complex than any other shoot the chute. But the dark ride overall with audio-animatronics, well done sets and fire effects make it into a far greater ride. I don't expect a Six Flags park to have a ride with its own score or anything. But it wouldn't take much to add a Looney Toons overlay to any of their shoot the chute rides. Cedar Fair could probably do a bit better. Family owned parks could probably have some kind of local historical scene play out and it could be done on the cheap. I just think BGW proved that these rides have much more potential.

Their Pirates dark ride is great, but that one has gentle downhill slopes as opposed to a true drop. Fuga de Atlantide is fun, but not better than these 25.

@@CanobieCoaster it's really good but be prepared to wait in a long line unless you hit it immediately after the park opens. Always draws 2+ hour lines on hot summer days, and that's not even accounting for its reliability issues.

I've heard that the Log Chute at Nickelodeon Universe was a good ride. I haven't ridden it since the 90s, not long after the Mall of America opened. Back when the park was still Camp Snoopy. It probably changed or was updated when Nickelodeon took over, but I just never wanted to ride it because it's an indoor park. Who wants to walk around a mall in wet clothes?

It needs to be HOT if you're going to get wet. (My tolerance for water slides is even lower when it's anything short of scorching. The enclosed tube slides just make me shiver thinking about them. But simply putting the ride in Florida largely solves this problem.)

Piraten in Batavia is so beautifull, and ow god I hate river quest in Phantasialand, just it's to much I once went on it in November and two mega waves literally soaked me, it's teh best rapids I've done, that thing is crazy, and chiapas is also worldclass ;P

It's very unfortunate that such the iconic ride Splash Mountain is getting re-themed. I went on it once with my dad and enjoyed it even though I get super motion sick on water rides. It's going to be interesting to see what Disney does with the Princess and the Frog.

Let's compare. In your original raft ride countdown, you had River Quest at Phantasialand as your favorite raft ride and now it's Popeye & Bluto's Bildge-Rat Barges at Universal's Islands of Adventure. And in your log flume countdown, you had Zoom Flume at Morey's Piers at #10 and now it's #7. Also you had Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls at Universal's Islands of Adventure ranked ahead of Rio Bravo at Parque Warner Madrid and Valhalla at Blackpool Pleasure Beach but now you have those two ranked ahead of Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. I can't say I saw those changes coming.

How is Flying Dutchman only #20? Maybe because you don’t get all that wet. But apart from that it’s got amazing theming, music, darkride and being a coaster instead of a flume, it is overall more thrilling.

The original version of Rio Bravo is Wild West Falls in Movie World, Australia and the original Australian version has a better ride story and music throughout.

@@CanobieCoaster Yeah that's because the original ride doesn't have the interesting backwards camel hill on the first drop, instead it has a harder steeper backwards drop and goes much faster into the Switch track element while epic western music is playing. The other big difference is that on the original version of the ride, the final drop is hidden from view until the doors fling open, where as in the Rio version there's no final doors.

I actually have never ridden Frozen Ever After because on my trips to Epcot, it was *such* a huge draw and I spent my precious Fastpass+ slots on Test Track or Soarin'. It was easily the longest line in the park at the time. I suppose that will change. (Also, when my daughter was little she had a phobia of audio-animatronics, so she wasn't hankering to ride it. That made a lot of stuff at Disney World more complicated to experience. I hit Splash Mountain with another young relative instead.)

Of all water rides? I've ridden several of these, definitely including Splash Mountain... but Popeye & Bluto get the top position for me. "Wettest ride in the world" sounds accurate. When you're at Universal and it hits 90 degrees or above, that is just the thing.

Edit: I see you mentioned your list doesn't include water slides. I just realized that. But if you haven't uou should visit Holiday World in Santa Clause Indiana and ride their water coasters. They may not have the theming as some of these rides, but were voted as being some of the best water rides in the country when they debuted. Like the Wildebeest won the golden ticket from Amusement Today for 3 years for best water park ride 2009-2011, and the golden ticket the year it debuted for best new water ride. The Mammoth, their other one still holds the record for length of water coaster. Mammoth got the 2012 golden ticket award for best new water ride.
