The whole "bushcraft" thing on KZbin seems to have morphed into guys with unlimited funds showing off their expensive gear. I'm happy to see a channel that's more about the skills and the fun of the outdoors. Thanks for that.

You are very welcome. I feel the same way. Some people have turned camping into a college level course with only one right way to do everything. Not to mention the cult of "gear".

Dear Brooke & Dave, I sooo enjoy your sharing your adventures together, just as much as I love your individual romps through the woods. I have watched this vid before but still enjoy the river trip. My wife and I have canoed the Des Moines River in Iowa as well as lots of Iowa lakes and ponds. I sold our Osagian 17 footer to my barber in Houston 10 years ago and definitely got my $400 out of it. Continue sharing and I will keep on watching. God's peace to you both.

My first canoe was exactly like the one you have. It was a little too big for one person. On my first time using it, I went to the bank for a break and the front of the canoe went up on the bank. When I stood up, I was off balance. I was int he back and fell overboard. All my gear stayed in the canoe. I was the only thing to get wet. I am not sure why I am even posting this. Your videos remind me of old times, good times. Thanks. Oh yeah. Filming each other. You guys crack me up.

There is nothing better than seeing the vs. videos that you guys do on your joint adventures. Gives us some hope... if you know what I mean. Excellent video. I have 2 - 17' Aluminum Grumman's, one is a double ender and the other is a flat back. I modified the hell out of both, especially the flat back by lowering the new seats which made them unbelievably stable, strengthening the motor mount to handle my 9.9 HP Evinrude and it is scary fast ! I made custom aluminum corner shelves with ledges any place I could put them, so my beer and other stuff won't slide off. lol. I used 1/8'' aluminum and 3/16'' stainless rivets for everything. Anyways, you can tell I really like canoes and your video ! Thumbs up.
