For both Betty and you i can reccomend a company called Jerven. Its an Norwegian company who makes a lot of great products, they also supply the Norwegian Armed Forces with products. I would reccomend the Fjellduken for you. The Fjellduken is a combination of a sleeping bag and a samll tarp. The Fjellduken is very good if you want to have more than one sleeping bag because it's so big it does not crush the insulation. For Betty i can reccomend the Jervenhiet, this is basically the Fjellduken but for dogs. Hope this can help:) Sorry for my english, its my second language.

Thanks for the inspiring video. I'm watching from Japan. By the way, I want you to tell me. What brand of sunglasses are those? I don't seem to be able to find many sunglasses in Japan that are mirror coated and cover your face.

Really your videos are great. It snows in Japan too and camping is popular, but mostly in mountainous areas.I think it's a great time to be able to contact people all over the world thanks to KZbin and the Internet. I see that the brand is Oakley. I'll look for it!

Nice rabbit! Reminds me of when I was a boy, I use to snare and hunt them often. Did you harvest it yourself Keen? Job well done cooking it over an open fire, that looked phenomenal! Britt and I think you look very dapper with the scarf ;) Betty is cute as always! I hope you two are doing well my friend!

Hey Teunis. I didn't harvest that one myself unfortunately. It still tasted delicious though! Thanks for the compliment on the scarf brother....lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and great work again to both of you on the canoe flip challenge. Hope you guys have a better safer 2021!

Yes it is very different. In a good way! BTW I am booked for 10 days in Algonquin from May 21-31. The Big Trout loop! I will actually be finishing up riding my bike across Canada at the time but I am going to take a break when I get to Algonquin and do the canoe trip. Your videos and a couple others have been a big motivator for me doing this so thank you very much. I willlet you know when I have some videos up for the trip. Sorry for the long winded msg. Cheers

No need to apologize! Thats awesome. I am really excited for you. Good fishing on Big trout and Macintosh lake as well. Im looking forward to your trip report! I hope you have a great time out there. Sounds like you've got lots of time to do the trip which is great.

@@CanoeTheNorth I am really looking forward to the fishing! I have a feeling I will want to buy my own canoe after this trip. I am renting a Swift Keewaydin 15 for the trip from Algonquin outfitters. I will keep you posted. Thanks man

That looks great How would that set up be if it started snowing
@CanoeTheNorth3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony. It wouldn't hold up very well with heavy snowfall. When its that cold out though even if it does snow its super light. In milder conditions with heavy snow I would have to change the setup or spend a lot of time at night removing snow from the tarp.
@TonyHobbs3 жыл бұрын
@@CanoeTheNorth do you use tents or mids
@CanoeTheNorth3 жыл бұрын
Mids or tarps is what we use. Haven’t used a tent in quite a long time now. We tried them but with dogs on longer trips we found that the dirt they brought in screwed up to many zippers so now we only use floor-less shelters. Works great for us!

The video was nice I am a scarf fan. But I was wondering if you fed the dog while you were at the camp
@CanoeTheNorth3 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Candy. Another scarf fan! I absolutely fed Betty-Lou. She had her dog food as well as a quarter of the rabbit! She is a well fed pup. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks for the comment. That's a long way from Canada. I don't imagine it gets cold there at all. I think there is a lot of Canadians that wish they were in the Philippines during the long cold winter. Hope you get to see the snow one day Dominic.

My wife got me a Canada scarf and Toque years ago when we went to Niagara Falls. I never really wear it because in southern ontario it is mostly palm tree weather. Where did you shoot this video? Is it in Northern Ontario? I have a camp near Shining Tree. That is north from where I live.
@CanoeTheNorth3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. You could definitely wear a scarf up in Shining tree! It wasn't filmed that far north but certainly not in Niagara! I was south of Sudbury. I'm sure your camp would be awesome up there. Its probably cold enough this weekend to wear your scarf anywhere in Ontario!

I really loved this low key video. I’d love to try winter camping some time. How far can you travel with a heavy toboggan?
@CanoeTheNorth3 жыл бұрын
Hey Denise. Thanks so much for the comment. I am far from an expert at winter camping but as far as traveling distance goes it depends so so much on the terrain and snow depth. If you're going on hilly portages with deep snow and a heavy load you're not going to get to far in a day, especially with the short winter days. If you're going across a frozen lake you can cover many kms in a day.

Hey George. Appreciate the comment. She's a trooper that little dog. She gets tucked in with me in my sleeping bag so she's comfortable. I check on her multiple times throughout the night and all day long to make sure she's comfortable.
