Yes, add my vote to do a video on determining camera operating hours! Impressed with the C200's low light capacity and Resolve's denoising!

It is kind of eye opening to see how rich that RAW file is and how great Resolve is at processing Color
@Healthedsamurai5 жыл бұрын
@@carlosq00 It might be interesting to compare the RAW result you got to the same scene if you had shot in mp4/AVCHD mode at that ISO.....

I want to see a video about how you process your images re:noise reduction.
@Healthedsamurai5 жыл бұрын
Yes. it would be interesting to see the settings in Resolve tht you used.

You know that would be a boring video right?
@carlosq005 жыл бұрын
Maybe more of the reasoning for the settings because every image will need different settings...?!? 👊🏽👍🏽

Comming from a Blackmagic Production, the low light in the c200 is a whole new world. I´ve just got mine today and I can not beleave people say low light in the c200 is not so good. Yes there is noise, but not a destructive noise unless you use only iso to expose course. This camera is crasy! so sad, i can not talk that good about 8bit footage. It looks really awful some times... Bot raw is beatuful!

Fantastic video! I would definitely use those demonized clips, but if my computer could even process the NR is another question lol! And great advice on buying used and where to buy used equipment. I bought mine used from Adorama and couldn’t be happier.
@carlosq005 жыл бұрын
RedGiant uses the CPU only, Neat Video uses the CPU and supports dual GPUs making it the fastest option and Resolve can use all of the hardware too but maxing out the settings makes for slow processing not slower that RedGiant but it does add time in post. And thank you Tyler! 👊🏽 BTW awesome 1year review of tour C200 post a link I think this group would appreciate it!

Carlos Quintero thanks for the info and I appreciate the kind words! The dual D500s are the only thing keeping my head above water on my machine haha. Here’s the link! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJPKkGhvg8yoj5Y

Thanks, interesting comparison - the Resolve-denoised footage looks much better than the other two clips - did these, apart from the denoise step, receive the same treatment?
@carlosq005 жыл бұрын
Yes same treatment

I"m getting MASSIVE noise with 640 iso and above. I don't know how you got clear shots with that iso. How did you do it? Extreme denoising? Do you think the FCPX denoiser is okay? Or is it a bargain brand option?
@carlosq005 жыл бұрын
FCPX denoise option, is not something I would ever use. I talked about how I accomplished this look in the video, and if you are getting a lot of noise you have either not black balanced your camera (which is supposed to be done every time you change the ISO) or somehow missing the exposure.
@NaturalGallantBodybuilding5 жыл бұрын
@@carlosq00 thanks. I didn't know about every time I change the iso to change the black balance. I'll try that out. Thanks for answering my questions. Very few others are doing so. Really appreciate it.

Thanks for this amazing video! I want to ask, why don't talk about the noise reduction option of the c200? You can set it from 0 to 10. Isn't it usable that option?
@carlosq004 жыл бұрын
Great suggestion. My fear is baking in noise reduction that could affect contrast, pollute color, and worse soften the image to the point it is unusable. And because every situation is different testing to see what produces the best results is difficult to do. So I would rather spend the time correcting to my taste in post production.

Was just testing Neat Video and Red Giant on some Canon EOS R footage today and trying to decide if I wanna keep the EOS R and get one of those or snag an A7III. It's definitely tempting but dammit is this EOS R fun to use, and these noise reducers do a hell of a job even tho it's an extra step in post. That Red Giant tho, not sure what happened but I got gigantic black blocks popping up when using it on some footage, not sure what that's about but spooked me a bit to see it when the only other thing in use was a LUT.
@carlosq005 жыл бұрын
The RedGiant plugin seems to pick a frame (whatever frame you are on when you apply the FX) and then uses that single profile to denoise the entire clip, which results in artifacts from what I've seen...so maybe try selecting the frame first and using a different one than you had previously and re-run the test?

Just got mine for $2800 and LOVE IT! ❤ learning alot from your videos and comments! question for you. If you where in a solo run and gun situation and couldn't bring in extra light, you have your lens stopped all the way down and your shadows are still under 20ire , do you bump the iso (from 800) to get those shadows in the 20ire range to properly expose the sensor or is that a no no? I see so much mixed Info online 😳
@carlosq003 жыл бұрын
I would only bump up the ISO if I needed to show detail in those deep shadows. If the detail in the dark areas of the frame are not needed to move the scene forward, I would allow them to clip.
