This was a great summary of Canon's offerings. I'd frankly love to see one of these done for each of the major camera brands. I'm pretty familiar at this point with Sony and Fuji's offerings, which probably speaks to more effective marketing on their part, but Nikon has similarly cryptic numeric sequences for their FF/crop lines.

When I switched to Canon two and a half years ago from Pentax I spent days and days trying to figure out what bodies to go with, they offer so many options it can be confusing. This is a pretty good breakdown of the current lineup. I ended up with the 5dsr and 1dx2 for wildlife shooting and think they are the perfect pair for it. 50mp for the high resolution shots a 14fps for the fast action times.

Or another way to go about it is this: The 1 series is the pro and action camera The 5 series is the "regular" pro camera The 6 series are the higher end enthusiast cameras The 7 series is the proish apsc camera And for the 2 and 3 digit names, higher no. = Newer camera. Just Google 4 digit names though, they don't make any sense.

Same. I have it and i was planning to invest in only efs lenses and then go to RF mount eventually. Ive changed my mind after the sigma trio of 1.4 primes. Gonna grow and stick to efm lenses. The m6 mark ii is great but it doesn't have a viewfinder built in. If they drop an m5 mark ii with the high end body and new tech at $1000 that would be killer. Or even an m50 mark ii

They have a new m50 but I saw another KZbinr do a review (poor guy) and he was pretty disappointed by it lol. The conclusion was either stick with m50 if you had it, or get the m6 mkii 🤷🏽‍♀️.

I love EF-M as the small size, but damn the lens not much choice.

Sigma has a killer trio of primes. Im interested in the 30mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.4. All it needs now is a fast stabilized zoom. 15-45 2.8 would be perfect.

@@kingsamvisuals sigma 30mm f1.4 can replace by EF-M 32mm F1.4. I did have that lens, image very sharp with nice bokeh. I do hope canon come 15-50 with f2.8.

@@lcy81 the canon 32 is a bit on the expensive side. The sigma is $330 and ranked the best prime for sony e mount. Beating way more expensive lenses. It's a no brainer.

any camera brand made poor decision about the line up naming. Fuji is the exception so far, but it will be soon messy too: xt1, xt2, xt3,... xt9, xt10? no it already exists...

Hi Ralph...I am a fan and love your content, this video should be uploaded on Canon website. I am starting to get into photography hobby and mostly I would like to start shooting landscape and street photography. Would you recommend me to get the M50? My budget its about 1k give or take, my concern are the lenses because if in the future I want to upgrade the camera body and I have the ef-m mount I will need to re-buy a new set of lenses (ef or rf). Hello Eduardo, thank you. I think the M50 is a great camera but it all comes down to how much you shoot and how quickly you improve enough to need a better camera. If you're already worried about upgrading, you'll be constantly thinking about it every time a new camera or a lens comes out haha. You could also rent or buy cheaper/older used cameras to try them too before you commit.

Abraham Sotelo No problem. It depends on your style. If you can do most of what you need to do on a tripod, get the lens first, but if you need a lot of cinematic shots and b-rolls then get the gimbal first.
