Hey guys Nothingwired.com and today we have Canon's latest entry level the EOS 1200D.
It's also known as the Rebel T5 in US and some other market.
And then also very cheesy Kiss X 7T in Japan.
So it's known by all these three names in different markets.
Now 1200D is an upgrade of almost three years old 1100D.
It comes in with some improvements both in terms of economics and body and also in terms of features.
Now the kit we have is like the most expensive one where you have the body plus 18-55 mm IS II lens and plus the 55-250 mm IS II lens.
So again there you can see it says kit lens.
You also get the body you also get the camera with the 18-55 mm lens.
And you also get even various combinations in various markets.
So the price for this one generally is on Amazon.in it's with the board with kit lens it's about 31538 India rupees.
And on Amazon.com it's about 699$ we did not find it on Amazon.co.uk both the kit.
With the single kit in India it's about 26750 in US it's about 499$ and in the UK it's about 325 Pounds.
The body only wouldn't find the body on the Amazon.in and in US it's about 420$ and in the UK it's about 299-98 $ so due to both the kit lens you can see it's fairly big and very very heavy box.
So there camera's and all stuff there you see that's how it looks.
You also get an 8 GB card I am gonna show you and them some quick specs here.
18 Mega pixel CMOS Sensor the age old one.
Same CMOS sensor that has been running from how many models now.
Up to ISO 6400 it also ISO Burst goes up to 12800 and 4/3 also gets wide screen by the way.
And trains LCD non touch screen non articulated.
Then you have your F move full HD 30 Fps then your 3 Frame bit per second in burst mode.
Maximum and then auto intelligent scene mode.
There you see some important marketing information's and stuff.
I already told you so this is the black model ya.
Nothing much all those softer information and stuff.
So I am gonna quickly show you what's inside and you manage to just hold the review kit together.
So first you get the warranty card there.
And then you get an invitation to a free complimentary Canon Photography tutorial.
I mean it's a class room course.
So basically they're gonna tell you how good the Canon kit's are and everything one complimentary glass.
And probably they would hope that you would start buying their lens and other kit's.
And you also probably this gonna start paying for other classes.
You get the software kit's that one that's another one and then there is still another one.
Then you also get some good guide.
So first you get the Camera manual.
Make sure you read this.
For a beginner for which this camera mainly is and then you also get some nice colorful tutorial booklet.
So Canon has done a good thing they have provided lot of kit's tutorial along with mobile apps.
Because 1200D is mainly targeted beginners which one their camera to be first camera.

Mine is just like this but it has the mic jack and the SD card slot on the side just like you suggested! I just got it in mail today with 4 lenses; I bought it used but the guy said someone got camera and could not figure it out so he sold him a point and shoot camera. I picked this entire package up with a very nice case for $300 bucks! I'm happy! Just played around with it the lenses and I'm loving the stablilizer lense. I'm still having problems figuring out the video mode. I think I was pressing photo button and not the 'video camera' button next to the eye lense. Will try this now as i bought it mostly for YT video channel and our online TV show. I'm hoping this will bring in more light to the set. Thanks again! Janie

ok so i keep hearing this has no autofocus for video....but is there still an option for manual focus while recording video? i have no problem shooting video if i can use manual focus...i actually think AF is kind of annoying for video..just wanna make sure though

the auto focus on this camera isnt great. you can do manual focus, and i would definitely recommend doing it for videos :) hope this helped.

Hello, first off I would like to say it is kind of people like you to do reviews for cameras for people looking at purchasing their first DSLR. That being said I cannot help but to get this off my mind because I see it so often on KZbin and/or written reviews. Your synopsis is the camera is great but you wish it had a fold out screen, continuous autofocus in live mode / video mode, a touch screen and a Digic 5 or newer processor. If that were the case we could do all those things but then it would be like magic boom we would call it a T5i which exist, which also is priced accordingly. Hence this camera is priced accordingly for the options. Why does everybody think we should get all the options of the better stuff but still with the same discounted price. When does common sense come into play before specs. Another example is all these people trying to predict what will be and what should be in the 7d mark 2. Their suggestions are same autofocus is the 1dx same processor as the 1 DX. Same this equal that, who the hell would buy a 1 DX if they can get a 7d mark 2 for a quarter of the price and have the same exact options.. Just sayin

A good review. But a I'd recommend you to get the show a bit organised. Unbox, then show and explain the features and then go for Pros and Cons. Half the way, you ended up saying why the camera is good for nothing. Penning my comment, I am not a beginner, still I use this one basically because of the simplicity in controls. Photography is good when done to accidental expressions and objects and when you come through one such thing,you wouldn't like to take your camera,turn on move ahead with complex controls and when you get ready to shoot, the moment is good. Again, a nice review!

I am looking for a bottom line. With so many cameras available at the entry level, it is very difficult to choose one. I am looking for a camera that would be good to shoot piano videos for KZbin and easy point and shoot still shots. Would this camera fit the bill or would you suggest another? Hi Gershon...it'll depend on how frequently you change the subject in focus. If you will move your fingers across the keys much and want the camera to keep focussing on those, then the 1200D won't be able to do those. Anyway for making KZbin videos you don't need this expensive a camera. It's always good to get a cheap camcorder and then a good still camera. try one of the nikon 1 models... or the rx100 series. they click great photos within their limit and also focusses decent. The Nikon 1 series (some of them) use phase detection AF in video which is very fast. What they won't do for you is blurring the background and shoot two bright low-light videos..that's why people use bigger sensor and DSLR videos for...chose which one you want

Firstly, great review! (for a beginner like me, who has shot with a P-n-S all my life and wanting to get this camera.) I was primarily looking to get this guy for 3 of my most basic photographic "urges" (lol) coming from a P-n-S background:- 1) Shooting birds (w/o hurting them i.e. :P ) 2) Macro 3) Full HD video mode but as you said in the video.....video recording with this guy lacks continuous AF also something that you mentioned "shooting things like birds" would probably be strenuous aswell with this camera! So please could you suggest a DSLR which fits my needs also the budget of 35k apart from the Nikon D3300? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Krishnendu...thanks for the kind words. Out of the 3 points you mentioned, only no. 3 is on the body. The 1200D doesnot have continuous AF, which means you'll have to manually focus. This appeals for cameraman where he doesnot have to stand infront, but if you're shooting solo, you need the AF. for 1, 2 - you'll need specialized lenses - the camera doesnot do anything much...shooting birds you'll need minimum of 500mm lens (like sigma 150-500mm, tamron 150-600mm) and for macro you'll need a macro lens ...these cost lots of money...if you'e on budget look for a zoom lens from sigma or tamron that also has a macro feature...you'll, with some skill, get some very good pictures - remember framing and light are everything

I am unable to transfer my videos to my computer. They simply do not show up. I've been able to transfer all of my pictures, but not the videos. I need step by step instructions for my Canon EOS Rebel T5, and it's not in the manual. This video did not help. Can you please assist??

RA Garcia The simple process is by using the memory card reader. That's the best way to transfer photos, videos quickly. Hope that helps!

Nothing Wired - Hello, this is my first time watching one of your videos. I just got a Canon Rebel EOS T5 and I'm a beginning user/photographer. I chose your video because it was one of the longest on the list, and I thought it would actually have "in depth study" of the camera, it's functions and settings. Unfortunately, for me, in the first 10 minutes I hear you say you don't want to go over certain things, because it would take a lot of time. I know your video title does not say this is a video for beginners but I was wondering if you thought, maybe, taking a little more time, and actually going IN DEPTH, and taking detail by detail, function by function, and setting by setting, would actually be more helpful and instructive for first time users of this type of camera? What I mean is; the amount of time it would take to go into this is not a negative, at least not in my eyes. With that being said, I'd like to make the request for a presentation more suited to new, beginning and first-time users of the Canon Rebel T5. If you have the time or if you get enough requests to do so. Otherwise you're just moving too fast and not really explaining the things people need to see and hear. Thank you for your time.

+Omarsami As keep it simple. For anything not moving use the P mode... for anything moving shoot at shutter priority mode and keep shutter speed to 1/125

Actually, if you wanna learn photography or cinematography, one must not be standing on the auto focus button. even when the subject is moving, we can still use this camera with a manual focus to ensure undisturbed vision or by adjusting the f-stop in the camera settings, which in case, is a great idea to use this device for shooting..

i really like this camera for its price. Its a good camera. But when compared to the t5i the t5i is more suited for film. Although the iso speeds are higher in the t5i and it shoots 5fps on sports compared to the 3fps the t5 is good for taking pictures. But the t5i is always gonna give you more options when it comes to filming. This camera is all around very good.

it depends on the lens more than the camera...the camera will show noise in very low light though, so you need a very fast lens like 1.8 or 2.8

none of them are great for skating shots...you really need to go to 7D M2 level to be able to lock focus and shoot that fast. still among these get the 5200 but get a ery fast lens, any prime f1.8 or 1.4 lens like 24mm if you want a bit of surrounding or 50mm if you want the subject only
