I have mine in my hand now and it’s great. We all get in a photo rut, and sometimes you just have to put the camera down and walk away for a while. Remove and refresh if you will.. Your dad is a treasure and trooper, enjoy him while you can.

This video was excellent! I appreciate how much information you provided and if I may say so, It is quite refreshing to see a modern-day film photographer taking good photographs for a change! I really enjoyed the stylistic aspects of how you chose to shoot the video as well. Also, I am sorry to hear about your fathers brain cancer, I lost my father in 2004 to lung cancer. You've got a new subscriber!

Beautiful pics matey. Stumbled across your video right after purchasing a 1N and was delighted, beautiful photos and video :) Say, any tips re: the way this camera meters? Your images are so naturally exposed, and I know some film cameras can have pretty unpredictable metering. You mentioned you develop your own film which must assist with some of the control. Any advice for this camera would be much appreciated!

The EOS 3 is as good, in my opinion, as the 1V, but for a fraction of the cost. That being said, if I want an EF lens camera, I grab my 1N. Wonderful camera. I too have not been happy with my shots inside abandon houses. Mine seem flat. Any suggestions? Great video, Thanks.

I have several Canon film cameras, I love them all, my 3 favourites are, Canon 50e (ELAN) , the 300v and the Rebel G. To me great film cameras, I'm looking at the EOS 5 too. Monochrome is my well loved go to format. I'm not a lover of color, B&W has an impact all it's own. Saw your Raw to Jpeg video and immediately subscribed. Regards Rob (UK).

Mr. Hornbrook love your Rod Serling narrative style, got a new subscriber just off that. But given your gushing endorsement of the Canon 1N, currently have a Eos Elan iie, but still on the fence of getting the Eos 3, which you failed to mention that succeeded the 1N or the supposed King itself, the 1V, but the 1N's Price Point is hard to look away from.

Hey @jomoanderson5596. Honestly, I don't know that much about the EOS 3, other than it came between the 1N and 1V. Since it didn't have a 1 on it, I didn't really consider it part of the same line of cameras, but seriously, I have no expertise whatsoever on the topic. I just really dig the 1D line of cameras, especially the early 4 or 5 models, and so I wanted a film camera in that same line. Looked into it, there were 3 EOS film cameras that sported a 1 in their name, I bought one without doing much research, and I felt like I got really lucky. It's fabulous. Looking into it now though, yeah, the EOS 3 looks great. I'm probably more likely to be swayed by a 45-point autofocus system now, than I would have been a year ago (or whenever I made this video).
