Canon EOS 90D review

About 2 or 3 years ago, 80D was a popular choice for video, despite lack of 4k, mainly because pretty much no other brand had usable AF. I'm curious whether people will buy this camera now, when Sony and Fuji improved theirs in this regard.

That depends whether you are an advanced amatur or pro....or of its your first camera....because there is one major deciding factor....GLASS!!!if you allready spent thousands of euro's for Nice lenses for canon...you will not change lightly to another brand....and good glass is at least as important as a good body...

Great review - thanks! You mentioned that the get best results out of the 32mpx sensor, one has to use a high quality resolution lens. What good quality go-around zoom lens would you recommend for this body from the EF-S and EF family?

Try this Facebook group ( facebook.com/groups/Canon90D/?ref=share ) It's totally dedicated to 90D owners and they have tested lots of lenses, they have a list of recommended lenses that look sharp with this high megapixel sensor. I personally started out with the 18-55mm kit lens, along with the 10-18mm wide angle lens and the 50mm prime.

Think you are missing an option. Jared Polin has a user guide video for the 90D and he could turn off the thumb pad control and leave the joystick on. Maybe he had the firmware upgrade on his.

Very good review. The fact that it's basically a mirrorless (usability options) with the OVF option for those who are still used to using it, not my favourite option of use but...

I have an 80D already. Was just at Best buy to test out the 90D. Love it. Bought a 32GB high speed memory card. Put it in and took a few photos and took 3 video's. Two in 4K and one in standard 1080P High Def. I can't few the real quality until I get a 4K TV on my computer. But mostly did it to compare file size. Wow does the 4K take up more space. Time to also buy a new external HD for my PC to store all the footage. I can't wait to get my W-2 and get my taxes done.

Well reviewed and l don't even shoot Canon. I hope they do update the 7D but fear they will not with the push to mirrorless. My Canon shooting friends want that update badly.

I've just upgraded from 60d to 90d . Great features but feeling slightly underwhelmed by it. Yes it's got brilliant video . I shoot pics more than video . I do believe they Canon have missed a trick by not going mirroless with this body . Two memory card slots would have totally sealed the deal . Ok weatherproof body too . Ok asking a lot , Not all of us need full pro camera bodies do we

New Canon cameras and lenses are always expensive when they hit the market. Price will go down, don't worry.

I've just bought this camera, actually a few days ago, and just published the unboxing and first impressions...from my humble vlogger point of view I can say it's an awesome camera...I was surprised when I found out that the built-in microphone produces a great quality sound...when I switch from built in microphone to rode videomicro outdoors, if there isn't much wind, I can barely hear the difference. I love this camera.
