Great rig, same as mine but I connect the camera dummy battery to the 8v out (camera) from my tilta battery plate. I was told the 12v would be too much as camera battery is only 7.2volt . Any thoughts?
@EastonBennett3 жыл бұрын
Honestly no idea, but sounds legit 😅
@TheMash843 жыл бұрын
You are right, never connect it to 12V, you will risk frying your camera in seconds. If it works it's because the dummy battery converts the voltage to 8V, but it's very risky as if the voltage regulation of the dummy fails you're going to fry your camera.

Hey man, did you say with that cable from atomos you can record 4K at 60fps on the eos R? I have a similar rig but I must not have the right cable. I can only record 4K at 24 & 30 when recording from the monitor. Thanks in advance.
@EastonBennett3 жыл бұрын
The EOS R doesn’t allow for 4k 60, but that cable will be able to record 4k60 from cameras that offer it, like the R5 or R6
@Pickupstix24 Жыл бұрын
considering that a Canon EOS R runs on 7.2V, have you had any issues running it on the 12V socket from the battery plate? The R10 is the same and i was a bit worried about overpowering it, shortening the lifespan. Also the Ninja V is roughly an 8V input that you plugged into a Dtap which is listed as a 14.8V supply. So kinda the same question there. Oh, and gracias por el contenido.
@EastonBennett Жыл бұрын
I actually started running it from the 8v port! Haven’t had any issues 🤘🏻
@Pickupstix24 Жыл бұрын
@Easton Bennett the truly unfortunate side is that this battery plate as well as the smallrig version only have 1 8v port available.

@Pickupstix24 Жыл бұрын
@Easton Bennett question. Have you had issues with your eos r running off those battery packs? I installed one for my r10 and now the video is jumpy and wierd. Haven't changed any settings.
@TheFilmCouple_3 жыл бұрын
That HDMI allows 4k 10bit at 60fps to the Ninja? I thought it was just 29.97...
@EastonBennett3 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t allow 4k 60 on the R, but it would for a camera that allows 4k 60 like the R6 or R5!
@take2studio1873 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. I’m rigging my R5 the same way you rigged this. One question. When you plug your dummy canon battery to the v mount plate, you said you plugged into a 12volt output. Isn’t that too much wattage for the camera. I assumed you had to have and 8volt outlet on the battery plate an order to power the camera. Has it been working ok for you with it hooked to 12?
@EastonBennett3 жыл бұрын
There is an 8volt and a couple 12volts and I haven’t had a problem with the 12v at all!!
@TheMash843 жыл бұрын
You should connect the dummy to a 8V output. The camera is not designed to receive a 12V power supply and the risk to damage the electronics is very likely. If it didn't happen I guess it's because the dummy battery lowers the voltage to 8V by itself. Not all the dummy batteries do this so please be careful or you're going to fry your camera! Plug it on the 8V to avoid any potential issues.

I guess this adds more stabilisation to your videos, which part do you think adds the most stabilisation ?
@EastonBennett3 жыл бұрын
I think the whole rig being heavier really helps with stabilizing, but if I had to pick one item it would have to be the handle. Just getting that wider grip helps a ton!!
