WHAT'S UP PEEPS! Today we have another behind the scenes photoshoot using the Canon M50! We will try something different in this video! Instead of using the cheaper EF-M and APS-C lenses, we are using PRO LENSES on the Canon M50. This experiment is to show what you can really get out of this VERY affordable camera if you pair it with the right equipment. Just got the M50 Mark II. Incredible picture and video quality. I mainly use it for photos with a 50mm and 85mm, the picture are so crisp and on par with more expensive cameras. With these new sensors and technology these day, lower priced cameras are just about on par with more expensive ones. Great video.

Loved the energy! Tbh with my EF-M Sigma 56mm f1.4 portraits look they are coming from a way more expensive setup. The contrast, the colors and the depth of field is great.

I actually sold my 5D mkiii and started using the m50 more. I enjoyed using the m50 more, and yes I used it for paid shoots haha. My main reason to changing it up is the fact that, it was small and compact but had the same outcome with the quality and it was a nice way to transition to mirrorless without buying a eos R, RP or R5 Lenses I run Sigma 35mm art 1.4 Sigma 16mm 2.0 Tamron 85mm 1.4

I do the same with speed booster and 11-16 2.8 Tokina 35 f2 yongnuo (f1.4 with speed booster) 50 f1.8 canon (f1.2 ) 50 100 sigma (f1.2) And the results were amazing specially that i do all my paid jobs with it. The only problem i face that alot of clients don’t see it as professional camera and that hurts the reputation and word of mouth but when they see the results they were good.

I'm a beginner trying to get the best quality I can get for my money. I have the Canon M50 M2, with the Viltrox Speedbooster and Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art. These are my learning tools. Since the trio is so versatile, it should provide me with months of learning and shooting. I really like the art of your photography Mario, and I am glad you made this video to showcase what this combo can do.

I guess you need an adapter to use Sigma Art lenses on M50...or you don't?

@@Vlay76 yes. An adapter is required. I use the Viltrox EF-M to EF speedbooster and get a field of view close to a FF camera.

I kno I’m late lol but I used the Canon R with a Ef 50mm 1.4 but had to sell it. I’ve been without a camera for about 3 weeks until a few days ago I bought a canon m50 mark ii, y’kno because of budget reasons. I did have my doubts at first leaving full frame to crop sensor but now that I fully watched this video I feel way more confident about using this camera. Watching this I never new about speed boosters lol. It’s definitely in my list to by! Thank you sir🙏🏾

Once you add a speed booster, you’re nearly back to full frame! About 1.2 crop or a little less. Only lacking the low light performance of full frame but with Lightroom on your side, you can clean it up

I would say if you are a beginner, it is a great camera to start with. I would not use it for professional work as it is not the standard. But the purpose of this video is to show how powerful this camera can be, paired with the right lens

I just recently got an m50 with the sigma 30mm 1.4. ad all these videos are giving me all the inspiration. let me go ahead and subscribe hoping to comb through your vids looking for all the low light tips and tricks. anyone else notices that photographers always dress like assassins trying to be low-key? also getting a cage for my m50 was one of the best life choices I ever made.

Haha I definitely dress like an assassin because I'm a creator! But I never shoot low light with cropped sensor cameras. Can't go over ISO 1000 without too much grain

I own the 16mm (for my drumcovers, indoor work and talking head stuff) and I use the 56mm for portraits and family stuff, they perform amazing!! They make the camera look way more expensive.

Hi Gian! Yes yes yes. That 18-35 is a beast. I used it on my cinema camera since it was Super35. But for any cropped sensor camera, the 18-35 may be the most versatile lens ever at f/1.8

You can slow down your aperture or use face tracking. Usually the face is the closest getting the entire subject in focus.

Pretty sure the speed booster helps with sharper but also to be able to use the lens he paired it with. Because you can also use the cannon adapter but it wouldn’t be as good quality bc that adapter isn’t a full sensor

I have an m6 for candid street photography but after 10 years hobby photography i decided to jump in to the professional pool. I was wondering what's the best solution to boost up my pictures: Buy a pro new camera and use my budget lenses, or keep my m6 and buy pro lenses. I think the best solution for the start is a professional lens.

Hey Gabor! Hopefully you were able to find your answers through some testing. But I can say, getting better lenses will instantly increase the quality of your photos. It's like us as people having the right glasses. If you upgrade to full frame lenses, you'll also already have lenses when you're ready to upgrade the body. Hope this helps!

Well when I'm using a 50mm or 85mm, I know my approach will be portrait focused. When I shoot full body, I'm using a 35mm. Gotta step a little far back with that 50mm haha

I need some professional advice, I have a canon 5d mark iii, but the focus is slow, no dual pixel ofc, and there is no way im using live view for portraits, should I sell the body and get the m50 with the viltrox? thanks.

Nope. The 5D Mark III is still a better camera as far as image. Yes the 5D is old. But you would be downgrading image quality. I would recommend the Canon EOS R. You're getting the 5DIV sensor with image quality improvements with dual pixel autofocus

I think a pro photographer would do better with the kit lens (15-45) and a 50mm 1.8 nifty fifty giving the M50 an 80mm look. Posing was all the same, no clothing changes, color was not good, I'm not sure what the purpose of this video was, other than to discourage people from buying Sigma lenses and doing a model shoot with only one clothing option. The photographer could learn to use light a lot better--less talk and more action.
