cool video, some ppl think this lens wouldn't be good for concerts due to it being 28 and not 24, but I think the tradeoff for F2 is worth it. keep up the good work

Everyone is whining about the price but the price is worth it for what you get. A totally unique zoom that nobody else can match. Sharpness and control of aberrations is superb even wide open. There’s no reason to stop down other than depth of field or light control. Rendering and 3 dimensionality are eye-poppingly good. I imagine that the ceiling for this lens is higher than what the EOS R can capture. The lens is big but the weight is well balanced.

I DID IT!! My RF 28-70mm f/2 L just came in a few days ago. I was on the fence between this RF 28-70mm f/2L and the RF 85mm f/1.2L, but since I already have the RF 85mm f/2 IS, I can wait and get the 85mm "L" version later. This RF 28-70mm f/2L has replaced my EF 24-70mm f/2.8L and I'm loving it! 95mm filter thread was my main reason for holding off (and the cost of it), I can't find an ExpoDisc larger than 82mm and the 95mm filters are more expensive. But it's completely worth it! Did a couple corporate group shots this week where everyone needed to be 'socially distant' and loved using this lens.

Great video, love your photos. I was planning to get the RF 24-70 F2.8 IS but somehow ended up with this. I’m so happy I did. Did events and travel - never loses a step. After patch 1.4, the EOS R catches people and eyes perfectly, super happy. I forgot about the weight very quickly, never stop shooting!

I have the same setup, I love this lens so much that I retired the other classic EF 24-70 II range of mine. There is always pros & cons with every setup, Specially its weight. Seeing you using the camera without strap, holding it one-handed was thrilling. Nice general review though.

I was undecided whether to buy the RF 50 1.2 (great lens but AF didn't give me a "wow") or the RF 85 1.2... and furthermore I needed a 28-35mm lens for portraits. So I buy this aircraft carrier and I'm very very happy.. but I agree, first you should try this lens and then decide if buy it or no.

I'm still wondering to get RF28-70 or RF24-70 for fashion. Got already RF50 but sometimes I need someting wider or more tele than 50mm. If it wasn't THAT HUGE I'd know what to choose...

If you already have the 50, the whole the 28-70 is bigger, it’s not that of a big jump in size and weight. The 50 already is quit heavy and big. I tried both of them in the store and I now now that if I get one of those, it will be the 28-70. the quality feels even better (the 50 makes quit some noise when it starts to move the glas on focus) and f2 is even better than you usually need (because shooting with anything below 2.8 at events often leads to blurry images because people move a lot ^^

The 50 1.2 DOF MACHINE! No that lens is XGAMES MODE. Keep it and buy a nice wide aperture 24mm! Then just use your feet to bridge the gap between the focal lengths :)

Awesome video. I like that you shot everything at f2 because I don't think anyone buys this to shoot at f4. I always say that these kind of lenses should only be used by photographers who go around with am assistant that you pass the camera to in between shots. But you're right. This is a lens to rent for the experience.

This is well intentioned so please take no offense. A comment from an old dude re your composition. Your subject was 99% guaranteed to be in a bulls eye on her face. I an no slave to the the rule of thirds, etc. But putting the face dead in the center of the frame is a no go to my taste. If you were a Realtor and trying to sell the property behind your lovely model than your compositions would make sense, at lease to me.
