The greatest niche. The DMV. These city women tend to have money either you have to make as much as they do or more. Wild thing is they want a provider (financially) when they already have money and may have a house. What are they going to do when they find that "dude"? Quit their job? I think not.

There are divorced men living in their car right now, that also were happy in a relationship with a woman until that women decided to leave him, or cheat on him, or falsely accuse him of some kind of abuse. So, happy men in relationships is nothing to celebrate, because it is temporary. Anyone can get into a relationship or marriage, but the question is, will that women stay in that marriage with you until death like she said in her marriage vows on the wedding day?!?

As a transplant to the DMV from NC I’m shocked that this has been your experience. The quality women are abundant. I went to one yoga class and was in the room with at least 20 well manicured, assuming well paid Black and Hispanic women. Most of the women I’ve met makes $80k+ and most of the women I’ve run in to are incredibly feminine. Now women from the DMV aren’t the nicest but I do think they’re kind, especially when they warm up. But I do think dating in the city can be challenging due to what you mentioned of people assuming they have more options than they actually have. I think because there’s soooo many people, it can take a while to find the spots that regularly have the type of partner that you’re looking for + the DMV is incredibly transient. So people come for a couple years to build their careers and then leave. Or they’re digital nomads who’s trying out the city, or they’ve moved to or moved back for a number of different reasons but don’t really plan to stay, so there’s this “here for a good time, not a long time” energy

In defense of people not wanting to be there for the come-up: why fall in love with a potential when the person might not actually ever achieve that potential? Risky and could cause a lot of relational damage for both the woman and the man once the relationship falters.

Pick the person with the best character. If two individuals can afford to take care of themselves, you come together and two incomes is better than one. If just one person in the relationship happens to over achieve financially it’s icing on the cake

We don’t talk enough about the emotional harm it does to men who think they are secure but really aren’t. People SAY they want a together woman to hold them down but ultimately resent her when she tries to help him level up… which requires a level of discipline, education, and focus he might not yet have. That’s a deeper, harder convo.

Everything you're saying in this video is applicable to what I experience in Philadelphia. I haven't seriously dated in years because I have been unimpressed by the market. I see physically attractive women every day, but they're not feminine. Femininity is VERY important to me, and I want to believe that I'll find a black woman who is, but I don't see it happening. It seems as if modern women take pride in doing and being everything that men don't want or value, and what we think doesn't matter to them. It's so discouraging that I don't even pray about it anymore. I won't deny that there are good, marriageable women out there, but they're in such a vast minority that it's not worth searching for. Just my take.
