What a treat! I'm a Lutheran pastor, and my wife is Catholic. On July 11, 2015 a group of friends sang this song at our wedding to honor her history.

As a singer who also has been fascinated with acoustics most of my adult life, it is inspiring to hear such pristine singing in truly wonderfully unique settings.

Found you folks on A Prairie Home Companion about a decade ago back when Garrison Keillor was still running the show. You never fail to disappoint. Thank you.

Wow. Such a different room than the 2011 performance. All of the parallel walls are adding lots of room modes and resonances. They needed to be corrected for (as best they could) in post production.

It’s fun to try and figure out who is singing your part. I sing choir 1 first tenor and think the person in the white shirt and black sweater sings that part.

I wonder why the song was titled Ave Maria, but it is the Angelus prayer.
@jeanmo223 жыл бұрын
Because it becomes the Ave Maria- Ave Maria is interspersed between each verse of the Angelus. The dual choirs mimic the call and response of the Hail Mary when prayed.
@L1011MD113 жыл бұрын
@@jeanmo22 still the entire song is the Angelus prayer in Latin not the Ave Maria. If it was just the lyrics of Ave Maria, then it should be titled as such.

Beautiful performance! THANK YOU for singing out and for singing with vibrato! I get so tired of the ugly, white, vibrato-less sound of most vocal groups. Also, I clearly need to suck it up and get an Ipad. LOL.
