Cap Barbell Squat Stand Power Rack Update. .Still Worth It?

In this video I give an update to the CAP Barbell (FM-90FQ) Exercise Stand Power Rack. This is notoriously known as the cheapest squat rack you can buy on Amazon.com. I picked mine up about 2 years ago and was a little apprehensive but also confident that based on what I was getting it for, it couldn't be that bad. I touch on how it held up, how I use it, and if I still think it's worth it.

Nice review - covered all the important points. Some people definitely go overboard with equipment and get nervous about a bit of instability. I have a basic 4 post Bodysolid rack that has given 10yrs good service.

Thanks I have been looking around for something like this mainly that can handle the suspension trainer. Not many people out there demo doing suspension trainer on a small rack or power tower. This will be perfect can add to it slowly to do barbell stuff if I feel like it

Bolt this thing down, get the recommended safety barbell catch and this is one amazing home gym

If you can't bolt it down, will putting weights on the two weight racks provide a valid alternative?

It only has one plate pin. The other is a barbell stand and it's too wide a diameter to put a plate on it. It works fine if you load the one pin though.

Can I ask what the measurements are for this rack? In particular, how wide is it? I see the measurements online say it is about 46 inches, but I don't think that includes the little ground anchors on each side. I have a space that is 48 inches wide and want to use the Cap Barbell rack as as a pullup bar. Thanks!

If the uprights were one piece it would be a GREAT value, however,connecting uprights in the center scares the daylight out of me as many bad things can and will happen if you go over 300 pounds.

Hard to say. The deluxe is still a "cheap" rack but just a slightly bigger build. It does some with the safety bars so that is a big plus, because you'd have to buy these extra on this one.

Damn!! I took a Sat and built one outside....had I known this thing only cost that much, I'd hav just bought that!!🤦‍♂️ wouldnt be pulling an "Arnold" and putting hundreds of pounds on it, woulda been fine....damn, I'm kinda bummed I missed out on it. 👍 good stuff.
