I upgraded my platinum to the QS card after 3 years. I was stuck at $500 the entire time I asked for credit increases but I was always denied. I gave it my final effort & used the card for every purchase I made I had to pay off the balance every other week because $500 is a not a lot. I did this for 3-4 months, so I called again & they denied me again I was disappointed to the point where I was gonna let the card sit & let them close it for inactivity. Out of nowhere about a month after asking for an increase I wake up one morning with a credit limit of $3k.! It’s not a lot but better than $500 so guess I’ll keep it open now lol

That’s crazy! They make it very simple to ask for a cl increase with only a soft pull, but I have to admit their grants are relatively small when compared to other issuers.

I still have mine, I just don’t use it 💯 if capital one decides to close the account, well so be it, it will show as “good standing” in my credit report and I’m content with that. I have years with that card (quicksilver) so that’s THE ONLY reason why I haven’t closed it.

I can confirm that high income and a good credit score will help. Also actually using your card every month and showing on time payments help. I’ve gotten an increase every single year that I asked for one. Even on my platinum card they were stingy w their raises like $100 per year but after enough time they finally upped by a few grand. It just takes time. And as a rule of thumb I request increases no more than once per year and asked between 10-25%

Credit score is not something used in all countries though. In France, they determine if you are eligible to get a loan (e.g., to buy a house) based on the ratio between your salary, your expenses and your savings. Basically, if every month you 'burn' all your money, you're perceived as riskier than someone earning less but consistently making deposits to a saving account. I feel in the US people tend to buy things they don't need with money they dont have... The only times I feel one should need a credit is when buying 'big' things (house, car, etc.). Not for a TV. I'm 42 with over 792 credit score, time was put into that to build it up with the help of

This is crazy I just clicked on this video feeling defeated because I have requested every month for a limit increase. I've maxed out the card and paid off whatever transaction I added plus the min payment before the post date. All letters would come back saying "A credit limit increase is currently not available upon request because Capital One is evaluating account activity at assigned credit limit." I have the QuicksilverOne with a limit of $700 and I have been stuck at this amount for years. I just made a payment last night and got my card down to $109. After watching this video I decided to apply again and I actually got approved for an additional $3000. So now my credit line is $3,700. This is crazy its like your video was sign for me to apply again. Anyone feeling defeated keep trying!

Well Capital One hates me and has only raised my credit limit once from 1k to 2k, and that was 8yrs ago when I only had the card for 6months. Ive asked several times and have updated my income everytime I have a pay raise. I currently have 24 credit cards and over 200k in credit but of course, my Quicksilver is my lowest limit.

@@DayanaPlays I used to but I play the game for mainly points and Miles now so if I'm mainly using a card that only gets 1.5 % cashback when I have better cards, I'd be loosing. And even with cashback, I have cards that give 2% and better. Basically I just gave up on it and put a monthly 1.99 charge on it for Google storage so that it doesn't close.

I'm a cap1 pro. Bump your limit and focus all your spending on that card for 3 months. At the end of the 4th statement proving you will use their limit they have given you. You will apply for an increase and you will be happy. If not then don't be mad when you stay at the bottom and don't use the limit they give you.

I have 2 credit cards with Capitol One. One card has a credit limit of $600.00 ( 3 1/2) years!. I am NOT impressed with Capitol One!. I applied with American Express and received a $10,000 limit!. OH, by the way , I used my CO cards on a regular basis and see where it got me!. Maybe Capitol One needs to focus on there customers; and stop paying celebrities to promote there product!.

I have had a Capital One card 4 years. The credit limit opened at $1000 and it is now $1100…Yes you read that right. My limit has went up $100 in 4 years. My credit score is 750+ with no late payments. All my other cards have increased at a normal rate. Last year I bought a home for $500k. My credit usage is 9%. Capital One says they have no control over credit limit increases and their is no one I can speak to about it. Any idea as to what is going on?

im of the opinion that cpaitalone is primarily a company with credit cards that cater to lower credit score applicants. otherwise why would they be so stingy with their increases. ive had 2 CO cards since 2011. both have less than 5k CL each. i applied for a third card over a year ago. i requested a CLI on each line after not requesting one for over a year, and got denied on all 3. its just not worth it.

When do you receive the $200 after spending the $500? For balance transfers and 0% APR for 15 months is this for a one time transfer or unlimited transfers ? Do transfers hurt credit ?

You'll receive the $200 when you spend $500 in the first 3 months of having the card. A balance transfer does not effect your credit score directly, but it can if you open a new card to transfer a balance and a hard pull is done. Also what you do after your balances have been transferred may affect your score if for instance you stop making payments, etc. Balance transfers has it's pros and cons so make sure to do your own due diligence. Asking for a credit limit increase doesn’t always work with capital one it’s there system. That does the credit limit increases and it can take up to 5 years to get a credit limit increase from capital one and also the credit limit increase doesn’t work on there platinum secure card the card u put money down on

5 months ago I didn’t know asking for an increase to your limit was a thing. Now my Delta Platinum card has a $20k limit. Thanks for sharing this information so we can handle our cards better. For 2023 I’m thinking of the Costco Anywhere Visa or the Freedom Unlimited. Gas and a “catch-all” seem to be my weak points and I do spend a good amount at Costco every year. Which would you recommend or is there something else I should be looking at?

@@jmbwashi My catchall card is the Goldman Sachs GM Mastercard, 4 points on everything. The catch is, you can only redeem for GM products and services. GM = Chevrolet + Cadillac + Buick + GMC + AC Delco

I wouldn't mind getting a Corvette in the near future. GM also has some good cars and trucks and SUV's. It's nice having a 4 point (4%) catchall card to replace my 2% catchall SoFi Mastercard.

Hey, your credit score will actually increase, because when you get a CL increase, your credit utilization goes down. Credit utilization makes up 30% of your overall credit score. The lower your utilization, the better. The only way your credit score may be affected by a CL increase is if the credit card issuer does a hard pull for CL increases. @@DayanaPlays They seem to be super strict on the whole wait 6 months between credit Limit increases (I keep getting the same denial reason). I've applied the last 2 months in row (Dec,Jan). My previous increase which was automatic and not requested was in OCT. To add prospective: I pay off the whole balance every month. I make payments throughout the month and not just at pay date/closing date. I regularly use way more credit than my limit is actually for, my limit is around 3k I've used about 4k/5k each month....
