We Leftists. I appreciated that remark. Your analysis is hard to hear, as it tells me that so much of my activism, my intentions for bringing forth an enlightened society, a liberating society - those plans, and those ideas are obsolete. It is a different game now, and we hardly know what the new one is. Nor do the minions of conventional capitalism, Wall Street, industry, big AG either. Or the neo-authoritarian populists, "MAGA" , none of that has a frigging clue. Nor do the theories of anarchy cover this development. There is a techno-archy that has gamed everything, but we don't even understand what the game is. Where is the prize, where is the autonomy, where is my American Dream, where is my Libertarian Sovereignty? Where is a world that has not been digitized, and fed into cleverly strategic algorithms, that all come from, and feed back into a "black box" of digital processing? That world is still there, I think, but it is getting harder and harder to find it. And those are the lamest subtitles I have ever seen.

capitalism is just a label for a society characterized by unobstructed pursuit of money. as long as it's not immediately violent. there are few rules, so immensely resilient., but layer on layer of 'support' activities accumulates and profit margins disappear. there is not enough structure to fall, but a gradual slump of accumulated inefficiency is inevitable. it's easy to design a society that is efficient and self-sustaining, but the existence of a per centage of sociopathic personalities in every human society has guaranteed cyclic decay.

the wealth gap in the US is wider than the gap in India with a caste system / 10% own 2/3’s of the wealth the bottom 1/2 has 2% but the global wealth gap is wider now than during feudalism with 85% of total $$ held by 10% / the bottom 50% shares less than 1% neoliberalism is dead so the west is looking for the next world war to rescue their imperialist power which won’t work anyway

Capitalism has had a major crash throughout it's existence on average every 60-80 years, last one was 1929, meaning 2008 would have been perfectly in the timeline, only that since 2008 all the central banks in the western world are temporarily preventing the crash from happening by printing insane amounts of money, but in the end all they are doing is optimizing the height of the unavoidable crash.

You and your associates can always work on forming democratic associations that build platforms that work as commons. The right to do so and the legal means to do so need to be in place. These can be pump primed through solidarity funding and other mutual instruments. I have been hearing for many years that the system is about to collapse. It hasn't. Capitalism continually has these crises and survives by changing slightly, and continuing on. Democracy cannot exist under capitalism. Democracy cannot exist whilst we have billionaires. Yanis hits the system hard, but capitalism will not be allowed to die because too many rich and powerful people need it to continue.

Capitalism has not fallen; the different versions still exist and always will, today the dominant Capitalist economy is China, its version is State Subsidized Capitalism, Russia's version is Gangster Capitalism', Britain's versions is Fabian Socialist Welfare State Capitalism.

Without govt investment there would be no Hoover Dam. Las Vegas would be a little desert town with a couple casinos. Would private investment have built the TVA, Golden Gate Bridge, national highway system, energy grid, airports, seaports? Every country that pretends private capital built it is lying to itself. If it were up to private capital America would have hooked up with Nazi Germany and we'd all be goose stepping to work.
