Feige was never a fan. Just another business man, but apparently didn't have the business sense to realize that all new all different marvel era failed miserably. It was the worst possible era to adapt.

They fuck up the creative process since ever. Favreau? The completely rewrote his script for Iron Man 2 so that it was a lead in into the Avengers. They stopped him from using the Mandarin and stopped him from adapting „Demon in the Bottle“ and instead give Tony the PTSD moments in 3. Every movie series in the MCU was messed with and mangled beyond belief. The only hero that survived that process with somehow three great movies was Cap. And maybe the Guardians, but even there Gunn had to heavily rewrite his plans. The sad truth is, that the downward spiral began in phase 1, slowly, took on speed with Iron Man 2 and Thor 2 and then completely hit a wall with Endgame, which had a lot of hype, but was full of aweful decisions whose ripple effect is still felt to this day.

He did have 2 movies with Nicholas Cage. First movie was pretty fun, but the 2nd one was awful. And after that, the only other Ghost Rider content was featuring Robbie Reyes' version of Ghost Rider in Season 4 of Agents of Shield. Johnny Blaze did a cameo in the show, but a very small role that only really set up Robbie Reyes. It wasn't bad. Robbie Reyes had a bit of an edge to him, and was a pretty fun addition to the show.

[one of the conventions repeated later in year - small show]. What we did is invite some superhero movie fans we knew [ people who usually don't go to conventions ]. It cost us 200 $, but we got them in. THEN we showed them some comic books that we put on a spinner rack that all the same THEMES in common. we let them open up the comics and read them. these were good stories with great art, BUT they were about the good heroes they have never seen. The "mini study" was astonishing. 70% of the people were in shock and wanted to see more. They never knew that such great stories and heroes had been out there in comic world, available to movie studios to do a story about. they all said the comics had better stories than what they saw in theaters. The people were from ALL AGE backgrounds and generations. I want to keep doing this experiment.

Iron Man 2 is such a missed opportunity but there is a very compelling idea of “Who owns your ideas” running through it that was introduced in the first movie. In the first movie, Obadiah literally asks Tony, “Do you think you own your idea just because you thought of it?” This theme is continued in the 2nd movie with the US government trying to rob Tony of the fruits of his labor. Too bad this theme wasn’t really smatly developed and the rest of the movie was just a hot mess. Still, it’s better than just about anything produced by MCU in the last 5 yrs.

DC is creating the same problem. I can't understand why anyone would go mining for stories, and pick the "controversial" stories, by bad or overrated writers. Snyder picked Frank Miller, Gunn is picking Tom King, whomever did All New, All Different Marvel shouldn't be brought back up, because it failed to bring in comic readers, and turned many die hard readers away. It's like when the animated movies tried adapting New 52. It doesn't matter what they do. Slapping a Captain America suit on another character is doomed to blow up in their faces. And they'll say "Cause he's black. Fans are racist". No. Again, Sam "looks like me". Still don't want to see it. Wouldn't want to see Bucky cosplay as Cap, either. Same as Dick cosplaying as Batman. I'd much rather see a character forge his or her own path, instead of trying to sap the popularity of the main event player. You'll always be compared to the original. Then you have all the bad press, Falcon and Winter Soldier, it doesn't matter. At best, it'll underperform. They can't shelve it, at this point, but I wouldn't expect it to do any business.

Captain America Brave New World is very, very late. For that reason it is, in many ways, the last of the really old bad movies in the pipeline. I don't think Thunderbolts is looking great, but it comes from after Disney realized they needed to change. CA:BNW was originally completed as another product of the morality play machine that was phase 4+ and other Disney products like Dial of Destiny. It has been reworked and reworked, but the core is rotten. The serious problem is that while the next generation of films is no longer being made to be offensive to fans, they've lost all of their good characters and their solid base. They are at ground zero or below, and by not throwing away CA:BNW, they will dig the hole deeper without a way to climb out.

It's not just about Marvel finding the best talent for the films. It's Marvel allowing that talent to have some freedom on the films. The rumour is that Marvel has fight scenes etc already created before they even get directors. This issue started early in the MCU (see Edgar Wright's Ant Man) but it's reached it peak now where all the films (and shows) are homogenised to look and feel the same (eg slop)

The MCU supremacy is a construct of the media and people's lack of understanding of movie making. It takes years start to finish to create a movie, most what people consider The Good MCU was already in production before Disney bought half of Hollywood and got to put their name on successful things they had little to nothing to do with. When they took over is when the movies went to shit and once they put out a few bad movies and lost key characters people were loyal to the franchise shit the bed. It takes people a couple films to catch on a franchise is dead so the Box office will always be artificially inflated for the first one or two bad films after a series peak in quality before people catch on and stop showing up. First things first. Let’s clear something up. Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige had nothing to do with Deadpool & Wolverine. That was a Ryan Reynolds & Co. joint given to us from Bob Chapek. One of the reasons Marvel hasn’t done well since Endgame is the bad writing, mostly from Rick & Morty writers and people who looked great being involved with the MCU, at least according to Marvel. But bad stories, bad casting, and bad direction with loads of reshoots has taken a toll on the MCU in the last few years and people just aren’t going to see their movies if word gets out that they’re crap, while the good movies like D&W and Spider-Man NWH do well over a billion at the box office. Marvel needs to get its head out of its ass and start doing better stories with better casting choices. Assuming it’s not too late which it might be with so many of those turkeys costing way too much $.

I've seen stacks of the Falcon as Captain America collection being blown out at Books a Million and Ollies. If a concept doesn't work in comics, why would you think it would in a multimillion film. For instance The Eternals, The Marvels, etc. I agree 100 % about Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. For me, the question is who is he going up against? Cap/Falcon? Echo? Ms. Marvel? Not interested. Also agree about the level of "talent" they are bringing in for recent MCU films and D+ series. A lot of them talk about not being familiar with comics, and they have no idea what to do with characters like She Hulk, Namor, etc.

As you mentioned we can't get a Hulk movie so they just slip it into other movies (Hulk Ragnarok). As a Hulk fan I do want to see this movie because they will finally show what happened to Sterns(the Leader), Red Hulk and Hulk will probably show up. There are rumors this leads into Maestro in Secret Wars and a World War Hulk project. But yeah having such a definitive ending with Endgame meant a lot if "normies" were kind of done with Superheroes after that ...UNLESS a really good movie/characters they know/ nostalgia was used to bring them back (anything to do with Spider-man for example...but not the not Spider-man spin offs). So personally I can only hope this is good and it finds an audience. I did enjoy the Winter Soldier/Falcon tv series BUT you really have to bring your A game to convince people to see a Falcon Cap movie and not just wait to stream it.

What the MCU needs to do is bring back the Comics Comittee. Back in the day you had Brubaker, bendis, fraction and others as consultants. But there really isn't enough talent in the writing pool at Marvel to really replace them.

Disney, and Marvel Studios should try these top ten suggestions to improve their Marvel Comics-based films and super hero-based shows. : 1. Stop being Politically Correct. 2. Stop replacing straight, white and male characters just because of P.C. nonsense. 3. Stop making movies for normies and casuals who aren't comic book, and super-hero fans. 4. Stop hiring film makers who aren't nerds and geeks. 5. Focus only on the main super hero characters who are the best ones, and stop focusing on secondary or background characters who aren't. 6. Start respecting the lore and focus on the original canon source material from before the year 2000. 7. Stop making the stories only for children. Comics aren't just for kids. 8. Not everything deserves to be on Disney +. 9. If it's not 100%, then it's not worth the effort, energy, money, and time. 10. The show must go on. Characters are bigger than the actors playing them, so once a contract is finished, replace the actor and continue the stories. I guarantee that if they follow those good words of advice, they could wash away the stain of mediocrity that they are settling for. But only if they actually want to care.

The problem with Marvel and just about any other company for that matter is they started dipping into identity politics and ideologies and not concentrating on telling a good story. Not adapting the classic stories that sold in the millions but going into the "all-new, all-different" Marvel stories that sold in the thousands. Bottom line if they want to improve get rid of the rot within the company.
