Malia deserves all the backlash she got. She has spent the rest of the season in the galley with the chef. All other chefs had to do the job themselves, but her super professional expert chef boyfriend couldn't serve a dish without her help. Even after Sandy asked her to stay out of the galley she couldn't stay away and let him do his job. Hope Malia isn't back next season.

Hanna new the rules also she broken many rules like the encounter with a guest running to his room/ then when she spent time in bed because she fell in love with deckhand two weeks what a joke/ yet Sandy let go out with the guest and boson for a drink ,which was to be one drink ,she was out there for hours and yet again the team had to pull her weight. If i had been Caption Sandy i would have let her go after her chasing the guest, Hanna has to stop blaming every one but her self .Dont get me wrong i liked Hanna but for god sake put your shoes in Sandy feet's its her live hood she worked so hard for .

It's so true. Those two, Sandy and Malia will probably never really get it. They don't look at things for the way they really are. Are never see anyone else's perspective. It's not even about the guest. It's always me me me, I I I. You have to do a great job for me. Have to do this and that for me. I've never heard of a captain standing in the hall listening in to the cabins. And then when she tells the guest that she will take care of it any problems they have about the food she's grinning near the ear and practically running to go jump on Kiko. That authority has really really gone to their heads. I wish they could see themselves like everyone else does.

Or how about if Hanna failed to let the producers know she was experiencing some type of trauma as well? You know these shows do mental health assessments and if you’re not completely honest that you’re on medication then that’s also grounds for removal. However, this being a show capitalized on that. Regardless, it’s a job first and foremost. You should advise your superiors of any medication that you may be on that can potentially affect your judgement

They both knew Hannah had anxiety from previous charters, all of a sudden they had to take action. 🤷🏻‍♀️Yet the crew is shown going back to work with hangovers often... Oh alcohol is different, NOT. I would think that they would have handled things differently since Sandy herself let us know of her own substance abuse problem in the past. They know they were wrong and refuse to admit. Now we know who they are so you can’t share with them your mental health issues because they’ll be looking to find fault in your behavior and take punitive action instead of supportive action. Oh wait they will blame it on the laws, then no one with mental health situations can work on yachts🤔 doesn’t sound right.

You see this falls now on Sandy , she CHOSE to fire the previous chef ( failure of duties ) now she deliberately placed her crew at a disadvantage . It is HER responsibility to make accommodations and go above and beyond ( EXTRA ) to fix the weakest link ( the kitchen ) to make the exercise ( charter ) a success . Sandy scouted this chef middle of the charter season thrown into a bad situation and then walked away from the situation . She needed to go above and beyond the weak area ( kitchen ) making sure he had what he needed and even more . If this was done the exercise ( charter ) would have ran more smoothly . Military exercise 101 . Makes sense ? And to further say “ he’s a spoiled brat “ he’s a professionally classically trained chef he’s putting his reputation on the line with less then standard accommodations for him to perform the expected 5 star experience he's hired to produce successfully . Sandy should have been especially sensitive to the failure and compensated the chef by providing above average conditions . “ maning up “ has nothing to do with it my friend. Sandy should have spent less time STROKING HER TITLE EGO IN TEACHING ANYONE TO RUN THE BOAT , and spend more time doing her duties instead of waiting for problems to arise . Lastly .. "Maning up " should be something Milia and Sandy should look into , by stop crying in front of the crew and having temper tantrums.

I’m not saying keep her on board, if Sandy has to let her go legally then fine but the way it played out was garbage. And I don’t believe that Malia did it with NO malicious intent. Hannah was not a great leader and obviously she was ready to leave the job. But Sandy handled this so unprofessionally. She didn’t give Hannah, who she has been working with for years the benefit of the doubt. She could have given her a chance to get the prescription and even have her tested for drugs before firing her. Sandy have since been comparing the situation to her own alcoholism and with that shaming mental illness. Sandy is the real problem here. I don’t think Malia reported her out of spite, she just very self righteous and behaves like a typical new leader trying to prove herself to the boss.

Both of them should have cited maritime law and left it at that. While I disagree with the law since it prevents people with necessary medication from serving in those fields, its unambiguous and without bias. Capt. Sandy should have left it at that but chased Hannah onto the dock, saying that she "doesn't trust her" mentally because she had a panic attack and was taking medication. Unfortunately, that screams of stigma towards folks dealing with mental illness. Valium is a medication that would help Hannah do her job. It's about physiology and brain chemistry. Malia saw Hannah struggle with panic attacks and anxiety and had little empathy for her. She could have spoke to the rigidity of the law while also being sad at how she was being treated. Capt. Sandy chasing Hannah down the dock and saying that she could have fired her multiple times is cruel to say to someone with anxiety issues. It escalates their negative self-talk and ability to self-regulate. The idea that Hannah would still have a job if she had her prescriptions is false because both said they didn't feel comfortable taking Hannah to see in her mental condition due to her panic attacks and use of Valium. They didn't keep it to maritime law in their comments or treatment of Hannah, and were unprofessional as a result.

Do Sandy and Malia really not realize that its not the fact that Hannah was fired... its how they themselves acted? Hannah didnt want to be on that boat, its so crystal clear. Why she came back is beyond me. But Sandy and Malia their actions are just sick. If its so important for the laws to be followed why does Malia wait three days to speak up. She tells Sandy that Hannah freaked out right after it happened but fails to mention Valium. When she's angry at Hannah for not being ok with switching rooms she actually goes through Hannah's bag. I've always liked Captain Sandy, and thought she was a bit of a badass ... and while I understand that legally and technically, she was doing the right thing, the way she handled the situation with Hannah was messed up. She was treating Hannah like she was smuggling heroin or something, but she knew how much Hannah struggled with her mental health. I absolutely think that she let her dislike of Hannah (which was always there) colour her response. As for Malia, no. She could've gone straight to Captain Sandy, if she was so concerned the ship's safety (and she even spoke to Captain Sandy the morning after learning that Hannah was taking valium to control her panic attacks, but said nothing) ... but she didn't. She waited a couple of days, snuck into the cabin to take the photos, and only exposed Hannah when she had personal beef with her. It's hard to believe that Malia's intentions were honourable.
