@@lifeunderthestarstv sea of thieves really does shoot itself in the foot with its content way too much. one of the biggest complaints with sea of thieves is that it's lacking in actual content, so their solution is to add content to the game and then proceed to remove it shortly after on basis of it being a "limited time event". adventures, battle-pass, and other events just get removed even though they would add a lot for new and returning players to do.

What of someone gave Demarco the idea to travel beyond the shroud for the purpose of killing him, but when the pirate lord stopped him from traveling beyond the shroud he just killed him instead and ceased the opportunity to frame the pirate lord

*seized also i like your thinking here the evidence points to the pirate lord but he has no motive to kill his son but he does have motive to keep him alive since you know hes his dad so it could be that he tried to save him but because ghost it didnt work and demarco was too confident hed survive because demarco logic is best logic and now the pirate lord is now in deep water though it could be interesting if the pirate lord did do it and maybe that would be more interesting than he was framed

Judging by the colour scheme of the lantern and how active the Reaper's Bones have been recently, its likely they're the ones behind this. I personally think this could be confirmed if the story adventures have us steal a soul lantern from the Reapers and said soul lantern is the same colour. Keep in mind that all of the other truth-revealing soul lanterns have been green when showing the past memories of souls, so this one might have been tampered with to show memories that don't exist or were acted out by someone else. Who's the only soul character we've seen who is orange/red? That's right. Flameheart.

GUYS I found something in the Athena Hideout. Next to the pirate lord there is a bookshelf with a carpet next to it. When I step on it, a pressure plate/lever noise plays. This sound also occurs when you step on the corner of a bench beside the musicians. Has anyone else noticed this or other pressure plates? I would like to know. (Edit: I'm pretty sure this is involved in the Demarco story, but it might be nothing)

The fallen sea dog lantern and the ghosts it shows are all orange, y'know what else was an orange ghost? Well how about a gigantic screaming bobble head that's no longer in the sky? I know it is far fetched af but what if Flameheart is trying to get us to rebel against the Pirate Lord so he has an easier time conquering the Sea of Thieves once he finally makes his move?

Most mysteries have a hugly suspicious character that has a lot of evidence against them at the beginning, but then it's revealed later that a character with absolutely NO SUSPISION against them is the actual villain. The investigation continues, and the Pirate Lord being the big bad doesn't make a lot of sense. So maybe we should look at who we aren't suspecting?

I have a theory; the fallen sea dog lantern is a form of ghostly entity that could be controlled by some outside force such as flame heart or the cap'n/Dark brethren. I feel like the person who killed Demarco would have fabricated these memories to make them look like they happened. Think about it they would frame the pirate lord so that more people would go over to the other sides cause, also why is the fallen sea dog lantern red, as opposed to the usual ghostly green lanterns that allow us to see memories. I think the reapers bones could have payed the crew off to kill Demarco and leave his body on sea dogs rest, and then scuttling the ship to cover their tracks and then made the memory that the pirate lord payed them off to frame him like I said/ By this logic this also means that the crews journals in the Howling wolf would be fabricated and that all of this up to this point was fake, an elaborate trick by flameheart's followers.

I noticed that in the pirate lord's room is a corner with a cabinet and a mirror. When u walk on the carpet in that corner you hear a sound like trapdoor or pressure plate or something. Was that always there? We tried to find if it opens something but didn't find anything.

Haha absolutely not sir. Perhaps my wording was misleading:). I mean they have a great game and why would they stop adding content while they can. Its been such a successful title in general and still going strong after years. Its one of the few games that I religiously play and stay engaged with every season for both the story and the sandbox elements. I just mean to say that it would be so insanely cool for Rare to keep this going into a new game. But with the server situation and this game being based on old tech, they can't add a crazy amount more in terms of map expansions or larger ships for bigger parties. Ofcourse there's always the possibility of a new SOTD map option on different server's. So we will see. But yeah, im not trashing anything at all bro :) happy sailing!

It's the lack of lore in the game from the outside sources that makes it so players don't understand. People do not understand that SoT's lore covers books, comics, board games, etc and they all expect it to be in the game right in front of them. The mystery goes BEYOND the game, as intended.

For me...Belle have something to hide... 1/she was sitting on the Pirate Lord Chair in pre-alpha (maybe she have write on wall at this time) 2/ i think that the dark brethren need Merrick for one information... find Belle (Merrick is the closer friend she have in sea of thieves, so if someone know where is she, it's him) 3/ she have not help to save Merrick 4/the last mail we find at the legendary tavern talk about someone with a big influence in the sea of the Damned...If i try to theories and go far far...very FAR in imagination...i will say that Ramsey have doubt on Belle...and maybe he have done a secret pact with the dark brethren (he have Duke on it) They Find Merrick for him and kill him (not really dead cause if he want , he can take the ferry and Ramsey know that).. they want the information to "how to catch Belle" but Ramsey dont want to be involved ... Oh and the Dark Brethren doesnt search for veil stone or veil mask...cause Ramsey have take it very close to them and they have try nothing to take it..they have not try anything against the pirate lord too... So..they dont attack Ramsey ? they dont try to steal Veil stone ? and they kill Merrick ? yup...they search for Belle... (yup my english is ashtray, thx to have decoded me)

I'd like mysteries more if they were more similar to the Glitterbeard stuff where all the clues are in game but it takes some serious work to piece it all together without help. I lose interest when the cynical part of my knows that the main reason it's done this way is to drive engagement on their social media when all I want is a good excuse to explore every nook and cranny of the Sea of Thieves rather than every couple of weeks getting to see a new easter egg about the mystery.

Not liking the new Twitch drops requirements. Under the old 20 minute to reward system I would be an active, engaged viewer. With the new system I couldn't care less who you are or what you are doing, I'll just turn it on in a background tab at minimum volume. I may be misremembering this, but I just did the new adventure involving Merrick, the pirate lord actually says that the location in the sea of the Damned is based off of the Sea dog tavern to quote him a twisted version of the Sea dog tavern, and I believe afterwards he said something about that place being the creation of the memories of his own flesh and blood, this will not go unpunished. So is he angry that someone killed his son, or is he angry that his son is using these memories against him, I really have no idea
