Being in the navy, most of the nights we are underway we can see so many more stars at night due to there being almost no light pollution. There was even a night where we saw the milky way when we were deep in the pacific ocean. really is something special.

I've been taken with the idea that the Ancients may in fact have been descendants of the old Maya civilization. The Maya were known to be very interested in astronomy and their architectural styles aren't dissimilar to the ruins the Ancients have left behind, and they even had a pretty sizable naval trading network, though they generally stuck to the shallows near the coasts. The civilization did have a collapse around the 9th century, and a lot of the people took to wandering after the cities went to ruin. Who's to say that afterwards some members didn't decide to take their chances on the open sea and somehow found their way past the Shroud?

So... the meteor is supposedly the cause of the Shroud and that’s why the Shroudbreaker allows you to pass through it. (Because the Shroudbreaker is also from space) So what if the monsters such as the Kraken and the meg and maybe even the skeleton curse come from the meteor. It might be a side effect if the Shroud. Certain islands show cave paintings of the ancients praising the Kraken while inside the Shroud. AND if the wilds truly is where the meteor struck and said meteor is tied to the Kraken then that might be the reason they are drawn to Kraken’s Fall before the die.
