PMDG 777 Tutorial: How to save a route in the FMC

Welcome to this PMDG 777 tutorial on how to save a route that we will be able to use later on in the FMC, without having to enter it again and again.

We will use a flight plan (taken from vroute) from London Heathrow (EGLL) to Amsterdam (EHAM) as follows: BPK Q295 CLN L620 REDFA.
I will demonstrate how to save the route using the PMDG 777 FMC itself, and then, quickly review how to save the route in the PMDG 777 flight plan folder using PFPX. We can then use the Company Route or the Datalink feature of the aircraft.
The same principle applies to the PMDG 737NGX FMC, and both on FSX or Prepar3d.

I finally got it working, flew from heathrow to schiphol and landed her. just two problems, the plane refused to climb to 10K feet and when i disengaged the AP the alarms wouldn't stop. :)

For the autopilot alarm to stop, you need to press the autopilot disengage button on the control column twice.

HI nice vedio thank you. I would like to ask about how go fly direct using the 777 because it's not like the airbus has direct button a bit complicated.

Thank you. To go direct you need to use the "Legs" page and get the waypoint you want to fly to at the top. I do recommend you join me live on Twitch or watch one of my 'live flights' videos, I demonstrate it all the time.

my problem seems to be, that when I save my flight, and come back later in the day and load it back in, my FMC is completely erased. I'm using FSX steam editon.

+Darren Duquette I think that if you save a flight with FSX, the FMC is not saved the way it was when you saved the flight. To save the FMC I think you need to do a "save panel state" of whatever the option is. Next time you load the flight, the FMC should be as you left it. I stand to be corrected.

STARS and SIDS will change depending upon such things as weather conditions on the day.

No need to enter via as they are inserted automatically.

You also open the doors via the centre FMC. It is the second door page.

I think you can update the database with Navigraph. You will need a subscription for that, though.
