No, there is no need to check the synoptics. Some airlines do it, others don't, but it is not essential.

Hey Captain Nav, do you use a software for the viewing angles? because in fsx if I am not wrong you don't have to centre pedestal view by default.

Hi Captain ! Great video as always ! I watched the replay of the livestream DUB - BOS and I thought it would be a great idea if you could explain/show what's the correct procedure if you want to divert to your ETOPS alternate while on the NAT tracks and maybe also the correct weather avoidance procedure ? I've never seen anyone explaining this kind of stuff :) Keep up the good work !

+Adrian Koola Thank you very much. We would always use the auto start, unless the function is u/s. If it is u/s, then we would do the "Manual Engine Start" Supplementary Procedure, which you can find in the FCOM (basically, the manual). If you do the manual engine start, you put the fuel in at about 25% N2, if I remember well. Similar to the 737... the book says at maximum motoring speed...

Just purchased the 777 and I was flying around thanks to your tutorials but when I enter on final approach, the ILS shows the correct runway ID, but not the glideslope/localizer dots on PFD. Yes, I looked to the Nav/Rad page and there was the correct frequency for the ILS. So... am I missing something? The same happens with 747, I am more use to fly the 737 because I have to tune the freq and course manually and be able to land with no problem. However, thanks for all these tutorials, already subbed!! :3

+Mario Hammett Sometimes the ILS hides behind the LNAV and VNAV display and is hard to see. In that case, it shows as a grey empty lozenge for both the localiser and the glideslope (if I remember properly). Sometimes when you select the ILS in the FMC, the frequency can be different from the one in the simulator and therefore the ILS won't display. Thank you for watching the channel. Enjoy!

+Mario Hammett If the frequency is the same in FSX and the FMC navigation database, then there should not be a problem, the ILS should be tuned automatically. You can see that in the NAV RAD page.

You have the ALTN button in the FMC. It will give you the 4 closest airports.

Can you do an in-flight engine restart tutorial please? I had dual engine failure at 30,000 ft because my side fuel tanks ran out of fuel and only had middle tank... but I didn't know how to restart the engines.

Hi, I have never flown the Pmdg 777 but as per my knowledge, the center tank fuel is used first and then the main tank fuel is used. How could the fuel in the center tank be left and the fuel in the main tank has finished? There is a possibility I think, You might have not turned ON the center tank pumps.

TCAS and WX radar should be off as long as you are at the ramp,in case of radioactive danger for ground crews. It you turned the TCAS on at gate?

+Garry Wan True weather radar should remain off until well away from ramp. The TCAS can be switched on on the ramp, that's no problem.

It's better to switch to ta/ra when you enter the runway and leave it on standby when taxiing, because when it's set to ta/ra, the ground controller's screen is flooded with text and information from aircraft who switch to ta/ra and it becomes quite chaotic for him/her.

I assume you mean the Flight Path Vector. You can access it via the EFIS panel by pressing the FPV button. Unlike the Flight Director, the FPV does not tell you where to point the aircraft, but where the aircraft is going.
