That In-reach is nice especially as it is 2-Way. I have a PLB and think the PLB+HandheldGPS+VHF trio are a priority over the In-Reach, but really liked adding the In-Reach. We had scheduled 5-days in the Everglades boat camping in the first two weeks of COVID. COVID fears were sort of apocalyptic at first, but we didn't want to cancel our long-planned trip. Each day when we arrived at camp we could broadcast our status and location back to the wives. No only did they know about us, but they could then respond to those status/location updates with the status back home and we would know if we needed to return early. It's basically texting over satellites. Pretty much elastic conversations, but nice that it's 2-way.

I would like you to show more on knots you use for hooks and tying braid to fluorocarbon as I loose so many of my snapper to knots coming untied and cut. Most my snapper are caught on top while chumming and my knots just aren’t strong enough to hold the pressure of them diving to the bottom. I use 30-50 lb fluorocarbon. Uni knot and improved synch knot mostly.
@larrygolden1675 ай бұрын
Step your leader size up if you are breaking off, both those knots when tied right will handle a snapper. You can use a snell knot to tie your hook the polamar knot is also a great knot but a little tough on heavier line. I use the FG or Albright for braid to flouro. You are more than likely getting broke off in structure or by predators than a knot failure.
