This guy must be a great instructor. The way he explains everything is fascinating

One of the best video explanations on how to add R-134a on KZbin. Paul must be a retired teacher of some kind!

Since I added a thermometer to my center vent (that's where it stays) I no longer wonder if my refrigerant is low--one glance after temp is established lets me know. If it's below 38-39 degrees it's low (mine was blowing ice and freezing up when low). If it's 40-ish it's perfect. If it won't get down to 40 after temps stabilize, there may be other issues. Yep, my high-side valve was leaking when I first got it. Had zero problems for 5 years until the orafice tube got a little funky-a new one fixed it. The car is a 2008 interceptor with 200k on it. Some guy put AC stopleak/dye into it-because the HS port was leaking and requires evacuation and recharging to replace. I think it was the stopleak stuff that contributed to the clogging of the orafice tube. Symptom of the clogging was very high pressures upon startup, overpowering the pressure-relief valve with a "burp" (makes quite a noise) at around 500psi (the one time I had gauges on it on a cold start). This was only on cold starts, never warm. Eventually the 134a level was low enough to cause freezing (yes, seems backwards but is a fact). It's running proper now. This guy is spot on.

Does it matter what order you reset the schrader valve when done? Low the high or high then low?

Sir you are very, accurate, and precise, I like your videos ,I subscribe to your channel because I think your very knowledgeable, in your field of ac work,I ha e a few questions for you ,I hope you don't these questions, 2019 hyindai kona ,using 1234yf freon ,they had thier church brother to replace the ac compressor because the dealer told them it needed to be replaced, they also repla Ed the coolant temp sensor and the fan speed resistor on the fan housing, when they ask me to look at it ,it had no codes,when I test the pressure with a can of 1234yf it show empty,as I added it ran for 12 second then stop ,I let out some of the freon it still will not pump, I used a scan tool to activate the ac relay ,and the clutch clicked ,when I try to activate the relay with the engine running it says failed ,when i put straight 12volts to the the ac solenoid thats on the rear of the compressor and the the clutch and the fan it blows cold ,...by itself the clutch will run for 12 or 15 second bit the solenoid won't activate ,I'm not sure if the problem is the ac climate control,or the fuse box ,,I don't have alldata for 2019 vehicles, any thoughts, thanks.

Thank you for this excellent DIY instructional video. Question, have you ever removed a shim from the ac clutch plate in order to close down the gap?

Why you don't recommend using a stop leak?
@ronmorrell98097 ай бұрын
Why is it necessary to attach the high pressure hose when filling by weight? No pressure measurement or refrigerant is done on the high side. Schrader valve is less likely to leak if undisturbed.
