I really liked how you had it bolted to the folding seat. That gives you the option of putting the holster on in relative privacy if needed.

You still take certain precautions, I have had a car broken into at least 3 times. Once it was just tossed but nothing was taken another a stereo head unit was taken while other more valuable items were not and again an uninstalled head unit (to replace the first one!) and several hundred dollars in lose cash was untouched in the center console. You cant make anything un stealable but you can make it less stealable.

I live in FL and have never seen that, now that you mention it. Be careful, I know in some others states visible gun racks are not allowed. I do believe though, that with a concealed carry permit you can carry any lethal weapon (allowable by law to own) concealed, it's not limited to handguns.

Talk about breaking into a house reminds me of the only time my dad had his house broken into. He came home to find his front door smashed in, laying on the floor and a big chunk of a tree trunk sitting on the ground next to it, presumably used as a battering ram. Pretty impressive dedication but pretty stupid because he never once locked his houses door. Same thing with his car, never locked it, but only had it broken into once... found shattered glass and a brick on the seat.

The rest of us are happy if you remember to put on pants too. I'm thinking of putting a cheap decoy safe in my car to distract intruders from the real one. It'd be only half hidden, and tied down with a cheap security cable so they could cut it loose and run. But I'm not sure what to put inside. I'm trying to decide between a rubber snake or a toy gun with a flag that pops out that says "bang." I'm open to other ideas though. What's the best gun to use when you want it to get stolen?

Obviously, if you're going to be storing a gun in your car, then you're going to have to store ammo for it as well or the gun will be useless. But if you're keeping your gun and ammo in your car during the summer, temperatures in your car can potentially hit 140 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit for hours at a time. This is not good for long term storage of ammo. So, how would you deal with that problem? I suspect you might want to use some sort of rotation system where every so often you expend the ammo you had stored in your car at the range and replace it with fresh ammo. If so, how often would you do that?
