I'd be the first to say if all you have saved toward a car purchase is $1K, you need to wait a very long time before buying a car. Don't get enticed into a zero down deal and hurt yourself!

Wondering if you'd like to do a story on my recent truck buying experience at Young Chevrolet in Owosso Michigan. In particular, when I was negotiating the price of the new Chevy Colorado, I told them that I'd like for them to either up their offer on my trade-in or lower the price of the truck. I was told point blank: we cannot take anything less than MSRP and that they could get in trouble with GM, that GM audits them to make sure they don't sell under MSRP. Hmmm. I'm 66 and a 30 year GM guy...I've bought a few cars... Have you ever heard of this? I could understand GM getting mad about selling OVER MSRP, but under? Why would GM even care?

Biggest problem is tha people think of it as special! Buying a vehicle is just like any other appliance, like a washer. You do not buy based on payments, you shop multiple stores, you look for sales, you look at brand reliably. So, paying for these services takes the hassle of dealing with scum dealers out of your hands, saves you much more money and also just stress alone. Well worth it! Don't be penny wise, but dollar foolish. 🤑💰🤔🙄

Very Good job, I have learned a lot from you. I still ask myself if it would be a good approach to directly present a reasonnable but non negotiable cash offer to a dealer for a pre-owned car out of the door. They don't have to accept it and I still can bring my offer somewhere else if they refuse. Sorry about my limited English knowledge.

Hello. Your videos provide value. I have sold new and used cars and trucks at a dealership and have an understanding of how it works on the dealer side. Would a buyer's broker provide a substantial benefit when purchasing used? I know how to say NO and get up and walk away from a salesman's desk.

I advise you to interview them and get all the info regarding what they do and how they'll save you money and how much. I went through such a broker a number of years ago and am not sure they did anything to assist. When I got to the dealer they didn't even have a car that fit my specs. This was pre-internet, so you're in a better position than I was.
