We self warrant for 6 Months/6000 Miles but have MOT station etc on site so massively helps with prep. We've started putting £150 per retail car sold into a separate bank account so when the warranties do happen it feels much less painful because the funds are there in a separate place, I don't know why it took us 12 years to try it but it's been great 😂 Cracking video 👌

I like your set up and your stock profile. It all seems very manageable and your customers must be very pleasant to deal with.

Great video, yes people want loads for not much money, in the late 80s I was doing 995 as a cheap car, that's 3400 now, never mind people wanting a new car for 1500 quid.

Big tip from me about taking a trade in........ Take it for a damn good test drive at least 30 mins. Never mind what the book price says, chances are it will have major faults. Deduct the faults from the price because if you don't it will bite you later on. If customer doesn't agree let him sell to another mug. You've just saved yourself a headache. OK you've lost a sale but which is better a sale and a trade in headache or better luck with next sale ???
@roystonvehicles91296 ай бұрын
Good advice, I rarely take p exs, as you say full of trouble, if I do I bid really low, don't really want them, trouble is your charging retail and you feel bad about not giving them retail, thinking I'll retail my way out of it.

You're very brave chaps.⚠️ I'm a vehicle tech specialist. I wouldn't sell second hand cars these days, too much stuff to go wrong 🤯

Ive bought cars that come with warrentywise warranty’s and Abdul just sends you the number when the car fooks up,. No chatting or arguin it’s sold under the basis there’s no garage facilities ad f t breaks contact the warrenty . Dave says but that’s £100 a car so maybe £35k a year … yeah but stress free and he needs to bite the bullet

10k a month on after sale costs of cars needing helping/fixing. How times have changed and the consumer laws strengthened. Easiest just be helpful these days as a trader. Back 12-15 years ago you could halve the cost with punter and now it’s just pay up or please return car to re sell. Makes it easier be swift customer and move on. Used to be a bartering process if old car went wrong. When the game was the game, feels like yesterday I joined job in 2005

I would prefer to buy from a dealer- who sold 5k cars - that employed a mechanic. I realise the cars have been prepared, but if anything happens, knowing that they have a mechanic to potentially fix an issue under the 3/6 month warranty would be a plus.

May I ask, with the warranty claims ... are these where you underwrite your own warranty rather than adding a warranty underwritten by RAC/AA etc?
@cardealerpro6 ай бұрын
We offer our own warranty for 3 months but if the way to upgrade it to warranty wise we offer that at cost price but say to the customer they must contact warranty wise if anything goes wrong

Doing numbers my death alley row did cost 25/30k per year every year end Dec making c.200k. So it added up and being a busy working almost busy fool resulted in annual woes and it did arode profit. But. It’s impossible not to have some dead alley cars. It’s the ratio. Sell loads. Over 500 per year. Then we buy many a pup ( Lemon Dog )

And yes it is Trader Media portal at wake at 8am. And stock sourcing all eve long dipping in and out. Job is exactly as part2. Endless !!! But. The extra hours do Reduce mistakes BY THE WAY, this was even better than PT1...... we sell our niche and outside of that they DEFO 'Stick'. Sell 5k cars try 12k cars and reduce them and make half margin on all bar 1 of them... Or sell our usual and have good solid average margin and routeen rough turnover rates p.c.m..... Dont know what it is with trying different GEAR/TACKLE.... It doesn't work...

Cars under 5g’s buy corsas Clio’s Fiestas around £2000-£3000 to sell for £3000-£4000. Once you’ve had them and know the difference between good and bad and stick to say under 90k miles with good mot history and avoid costly diesels which are expensive when they go wrong . You won’t go wrong with a 78k mile 12 plate fiesta 1.2 manual for £2800 which you sell for £3999👍
