I would pay for a voiceover narrator in this XD
@archiplanservices37462 жыл бұрын
Awesome as usual. Everyone is asking for a voice but i think a screen display with your keyboard and mouse (clicks) actions would be really helpful to understand precisely the way you handle Plasticity.

The best cad modeling you show on your channel! Would be great if you could explain your workflow by voice recording 🙏

Plasticity seem to be good at automating the topology that is difficult in regular 3d modeling softwares.
@TAH1712 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say 'Automating', I'd say instead 'Demolishing' the topology. Other software adds rules or preference of faces ( features) - Plasticity doesn't make hierarchy of any faces I think - so it's very fast at changing or even swallowing whole faces without a single complaint ( or check! ).

Plasticity is essentially CAD software, it doesn't not care about clean topology in the sense that Maya or Max would.

Amazing video!! I'm trying it too with a rim I need to make I have few questions: What do you do at 16:20 to slide and modify the curve after bridging vertices? 15:14 how do you join that segmented yellow line into one? and finally at 15:21 what command is used to subdivide those blue lines? thank you 🙏🙏🙏 great videos
While there are no commands visible on screen more than 1 second, how could people learn? Am i missing something?

Love these!

I am comparing what I am seeing with Rhino. In terms of the visible geometry I am assuming Plasticity is showing you less isocurves, less of the clutter, so the wireframe looks amazingly clean. I like what I am seeing.

I saw the struggle to loft 2 skin faces together. Usually I copy the rings they need to be lofted and bridge them, and then join 3 bodies together.

If we had to bring it in Blender or Maya or Substance Painter, is the triangulated mesh OK?
@DG-wy9fk2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for videos, they really inspire. Unfortunately it's difficult to repeat these actions and learn how to do this. For example action "Bridge vertex" abcent in interface buttons, in commands folder, so it's not clear where did you take it :) (maybe I installed latest version without it). How good it would be if we cold see shortcuts in action.

BTW do you have any clue whether there are plans for import/export functionality that would allow one to get my Rhino3d models into Plasticity and vice versa?

fuck, i suffered a lot making a very complicated trim in Maya... now i watch this and i feel like if i were losing my time...
@Kuechmeister Жыл бұрын
Yes, because Plasticity is a CAD tool, and Maya Polygon based. CAD tools are everytime better for hard surfaces modeling than polygon tools.
