Great work here If you haven’t tried it yet recommend you try Griot’s Garage Glass Sealant. Amazingly hydrophobic. Hardly have to use your wipers in the rain. Excellent for shower glass too. Great final step 👍🏼

Also - I saw somewhere about cleaning the rubber channels and adding some type of lubricant that’s meant to reduce friction. This allegedly will save or increase the life of window regulators… I just wipe mine down after most washes

Another good option for glass cleaner is the stoners invisible glass cleaner. They make one that foams. You can get it at any autoparts store. Its one of the industry standards in detailing

Depending on vehicle care the water repellent nature will last all season.... Literally this combination and the actual work that was done and the fact that the wax and chemicals were laid over a completely clean and stripped window promotes bonding to the window so you're looking at anywhere between 8 and 12 months of the actual hydrophobic nature working but then even after that the glass will still be clean with regular vehicle maintenance so I would say a year.... With that being said it would take many many years to get back to like this it wouldn't be back like this at the level it started at for 5 to 10 years..

I love the Rain-X. I got some Adam's graphene ceramic spray coating on my windshield. A week now- so far so good. It's supposed to last longer than the rain-x but we'll see.

I got a question about headlight restoration. I couldn't find the 3m hard plastic that you like so I got 3m 36060 compound and the chemical guys headlight restore. Now I believe that you did a video using them both together on the orange pad which is what I did. But I can't find the exact video. I want to do everything exactly how you do it. Is that still a good method? Do you recommend something different? I did my 99 Civic first which came out great but then did my Dakota the same way which came out good but not as good as my civic. I believe I didn't spray enough Maguires headlight coating and the finished coating looks a little ripply. Can I blend that with the orange pad and the 3m/chemical guys headlight restore combo? Thank you so much for sharing your extensive knowledge, it's much appreciated.

Yes that will be a good combo...you can only make a light as good as it can be .. They're not all the same .. You can try to buff that one like you said. If it doesn't work just start over.👍🏽

It could work..... I'm not a huge supporter of ceramic coating even though I do it I don't believe in those eight year 10 years ceramic coats because it's full of shit it's not the last that long nowhere near... Ceramic products itself even when properly installed by a master are not thick enough or strong enough to last that long especially on a normal everyday vehicle perhaps on a show car that is garage and well kept and not wash that much because it's super clean all the time but with a normal vehicle that just dirty and it's introduced to the weather and being washed regularly will ceramics even if they say 8 or 10 years only going to last up to 2 years... People over hype ceramic coating.... Also people ceramic code glass but as I say ceramic coat is extremely new and I can't 100% back at this point you know what's decades old maybe even further 60 70 80 years old... Vehicle wax.... I can back that for sure..

You would use similar method for water spots from a mid level to low level.. but this is more of a film or residue build up.. it won't come off with anything glass cleaner or anything like that stuck to the glass light glue....

Sometimes it is but that's more of normal stuff like smudging or fingerprints dust... This kind of stuff water spots and film usually don't develop on the inside... So this would just be a regular inside cleaning like glass cleaner and a Clean rag or papertowls that's it...

One video from another guy on KZbin recommended waxing windshields. That is NOT good for older vehicles. The paste wax gets trapped in the countless microscopic chips in the glass. The result is probably millions of tiny white specks. I know this because I waxed my windshield lol. Can you advise me on how to remove all of the wax specks?

This isn't an issue of use the proper equipment and supplies...(never once had to deal with it) as you see this is the 2006 when I did the windshield all windows.... I would use power tool application it's a lot different...(the right tools)

No.... Nothing really removes etched glass.. there's actually material that is not there... The only way to do that is to fill those areas and most the time it's not worth it it's very tedious.. and very expensive...

@loonah8473 that's not a proper way and it won't make the Windows like this... I actually have glass acid if needed it.. but this was different as I said in the video.. You got to be careful with cross different type of products that aren't meant to be on what they're meant to be on you can do a lot of damage putting will acid on Windows the seals can handle that... But thanks anyways... I focus on perfection not speed...💯👍🏽

Doing this trizact step first would definitely help, but it would need to be followed with a thorough polish using a glass polish and a glass polish pad. Wouldn't recommend the average Joe do it though because if you heat the glass too much, you can mess it up. I've removed etchings many times, but don't expect 100% removal. Some etchings are just too deep to remove
