I will show two different ways to make caramel for flan or chocoflan is os easy and fast.
#1
1/2 cup of white regular sugar
you need a cake pan or a pan
wooden spoon
#2
1/2 cup of regular white sugar
a safety glass container to use in the microwave
the time in the microwave will be different

After failing to cook the sugar for 45min on stovetop I tried the microwave method and WOWWWW the flan would be almost done by now had I just done that the 1st time 😭😭😭

I've been making my flan in a metal mold like for cakes. I melt the sugar and then transfer to pan. Once flan is done and chilled over night invert it. But I'm noticing that a layer of sugar stays hard in pan. I don't know how to prevent this

you can pass the mold with the flan trough warm water just to start the melting of the flan before you transfer it to a plate that helps a lot.

I will try that. It just been such a pain in the but bc bc I invert for customers into a disposable and it's a list of sugar. Not only that the flan is absorbing the sugar by the time they went to eat it.

excellent video, short, sweet & to the point. I'll have to agree that the words fly by pretty quickly...or maybe I'm getting old & my brain is slower or I need a new eyeglasses prescription! lol videos under 2 min. are usually my first pick when needing simple demos

Question when I quick my flan even though I use a water bath a loose a lot of caramel. What am I doing wrong? I cook it at 325 for 1 1/2 hour.
