I bought a second hand Pajero 4 2016 for towing horses and for its simplicity, no bells and whistles, just what you need for a very long time.

Got a 13' model Paj 4 LWB recently, with the 3.2DiD. Loved it so much we got a second one. Love its simplicity, value and ability to get the job done and yes, it seems from looking around that they last very well. The 3.2D is surprisingly good on fuel open road driving, getting around 8L/100km
@karl4834 Жыл бұрын
I have the same model and understand your appreciation of it, but 8l per 100km seems a little fanciful🤔
@SouthlandFlyer10 ай бұрын
@karl4834 not at all. When they are stock and driven for economy on the open road we got both down to 7.3/100km. I've now got offroad bias 32" all terrains on and a 2 inch lift, and it sits more around 8.5-9 open road. Definetely best to leave stock for good economy, mods seem to have a big impact.

I agree on 8L/100km. I also get this when driving mostly on highways with no traffic and stop and go scenario

The build quality of the Pajero, Montero is superb, corrosion protection is excellent and the 3.2 liter diesel has a surprising amount of torque, the Super Select automatic is one of the best transmission systems available These last forever if given reasonable servicing and will give far less trouble than Landrover or BMW offerings. As a previous commenter stated you won't see too many X5 BMW's in our Australian outback, nor many Landrover offerings either, too many Discovery's return on the back of a truck, broken cranks, problematic electricals. Landcruisers, Nissan Patrols and Rangers, Isuzu D'max and Pajeros are common and considered more reliable than most Euro offerings. Just my take!

I have owned two of them 2013 and 2018 3.8 here in Dubai. Amazing vehicle, which can pretty much do everything well. The only negative thing I can say is that the cabin can rattle (interior door plastic, dashboards, etc) even at very low speeds on smooth roads. Has anyone found a solution to this?

wonder why Shogun isn't supplied with Rear Diff lock like standard Pajero is (that dummy, left to seat-heat buttons in 10:24 - should be with R\D lock button). This is nice OEM 5th option for an off-road

I’m on my second Pajero, and it’s been perfect for road trips and off-road adventures in Brazil. The diesel engine offers excellent range, much better than gasoline. It has loads of luggage space, and the 7-seat option is great for bringing more people along. Whether on tough terrain or highways, the Pajero delivers every time.

I have removed the link pipe for egr and blanked also installed resistors on the egr system temp sensor located in the air box ( cannot be mapped out apparently , the resistors make the egr system think it's too cold to open it) @fabriciooliveira3720

I’ve got a Range Rover and just bought one of these for my wife. Amazing rig for the price. Had the 3.2 diesel remapped and it has transformed the car. Power and fuel economy right up, if you own one I urge you to remap it 👌🏼
@MrAndreCoutinho12 күн бұрын
Can you offer more details about the remap you’ve done?
@joshuathompson771412 күн бұрын
@ I had to put a whole new stainless exhaust on it aswell as the factory one was rusted up and blowing horrendously. So the map is DPF removed due to new exhaust but it has a cat still , it’s just a general remap but now the car drives fantastic has more speed and much more power but ultimately the fuel consumption is outstanding compared to what it was. Highly recommend

Petrol or Diesel?
@hash5820 Жыл бұрын
Europe's Mitsubishi Shogun is same as GCC Mitsubishi Montero. In GCC specs . Which has 3800 cc MIVEC petrol engine which create 298 horse power. Now about the secrets people won't say & why Mitsubishi worth every penny you spend at that time ( coz i owned Toyota & Nissan too ) Secrets.. other vehicles at the same segment. Was built on chasis but this particular vehicle was built in with monocoque body..( no seperate chassis )& to increase more speed & torque this montero's front bonnet was made in Aluminium. Third row seat is hidden as you see.. but very people know that we can take it out and use it in picnic or in park too. Entire seats Mitsubishi Pajero Montero model from the 1st model onwards can be used as full fledge bed for two. Base option will get a 10 seat & full option will get 7 seat leather interior with tiny mood light on roof. In full option vehicles you will get Rockford Acoustic design with minimum 10 speakers & a custom made Sub woofer on rear left plus additional 2 speakers in back door for camping. Moon roof is double the size. Plus you will get 20inch wheel in full option from 2017 onwards. Tricks... While driving if you put in mannual mode this huge vehicle handle Conners like a sports car.. (awesome feeling). In mannual mode if you put the car on 2nd gear on a steep or a slop while stand still engine break will activate. This vehicle comes with built in Tow hook ( full option).. the towing capacity is equal to its engine cc . Means a 3000 cc Mitsubishi can tow 3 ton easily etc etc. Mitsubishi Pajero Montero or Shogun can use 2H mode to 4H mode even while you travel at the speed of 100+ km/hr . This vehicle shock absorber is so good that you can travel on road humps ( except flat top) at the speed of 120 km/hr. There is a tractor crawling button( in full option) if you stuck in sand as an additional button next to R/D lock ...which make the vehicle crawl outside of that situation itself( though first timers will get scared of the noise it produce😅) by just giving acceleration. ( But best feature no other 4x4 had at that time)

298hp for the Pajero 3.8 ??? No way, I have a GCC Pajero 3.8 and it produce "only" 250 on paper even less in reality (for the GCC spec at least). And in Europe the 3.8 is extremly rare, it's mostly the 3.2 that you will found on the market. But I agree, it was the best 4x4 for the money. Competitor would be Prado and it cost sometime 3 time more for the same job....
