Carbohydrates have long been maligned by our health- and weight-obsessed public. In fact, some popular diets virtually exclude them. While refined grains undoubtedly contribute to the obesity epidemic, Dr. Weil explains that carbohydrates in whole, unprocessed form can be part of a healthy diet.

It is confusing, Dr Mc Douglas says no fat with carbs! I think DrbWeils might be right ? Fat slows carb spikes in blood sugar.

Just skip the toxic carbohydrates! Best to keep total carbohydrates load to LESS THAN a total of 100 grams at most PER DAY ! Go CARNIVORE FOR THE WIN !

One can be considered overweight and still be healthy just as one can be slender and be very unhealthy. I myself am overweight despite decades of doing everything the “health experts” said will take off weight, despite walking anywhere from 3-6 miles per day. Yet my Coronary Calcium Score is zero, my cholesterol levels are excellent, cardiac echo and stress test all normal, my Hgb A1c is normal. All my lab markers are very good and prior to my retirement, I went 8 years without needing to take a sick day. 🤷🏼‍♀️. Like my mother used to say, never judge a book by it’s cover.

Just because your overweight does not mean you’re unhealthy. As long as you exercise and you’re overweight you can be fine.

@@alir.9894 Being overweight contributes to all the major causes of death and disability, including heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, osteoarthritis, fatty liver, and depression to name a few. Sure correct exercise is better than not (along with a healthy diet, stress management and proper sleep), but if you follow evidence based medicine, being overweight is unhealthy. Sorry its not personal, just science.

@@michelephelps1087 Doctors use the terms "overweight" or "obese" to tell if someone has a greater chance of developing weight-related health problems. Its a medical term. There are many factors but overall when people eat more calories than they use, their bodies then store the extra calories as fat. Seem the others health experts did not use science. I'd suggest trying eating a Nutritarian whole-food plant based diet as in the Book Eat to Live by a Dr. Furman. It worked for me. Everything he writes is fully backed by science. There is a lot to the phrase never trust a heavy doctor giving out advise on health. They are only people. Furman gets health results, if its truly followed. Sometimes people think they are following advice but only applying whats easiest. I used to do that.
