Exactly! All the carnivores cherry pick the period in history that we ate meat as if this happened overnight. I ask them the exact same question, just go back further in time, but they refuse to do that because they want to live in their delusion. I got nothing against eating meat and I eat a lot of it myself, but we have evolved to survive and be efficient with all macros.

The story goes that Kellogg was a super religious man who thought masterbation was bad much like many others in his time. He thought the cure to stop masterbation was a bland diet that wouldn't "excite the passions" hence he came up with corn flakes. He thought it would work because it was bland. That's it. Because it was bland. The end.

I heard the same lore about Graham crackers. Hyper-palatable foods do seem to correlate with hedonism and that may be relared to higher reward/dopamine drive and that may relate to sex/masturbation/porn abuse/addiction, but yeah, not really it's just that someone with lower self-control may be more likely to both eat to obesity and be a Coomer.

But I know what you are interjecting here. I would have been fine for years until not. At 50 I did not want to look back in 10 years and wonder why I rejected all mainstream science. There is virtually no risk of heart disease where I sit now with an LDL < 60. I would say that I did not die obviously, but there were clear indications of LDL dropping from 175 to 60 over the two months. Blood circulation must have improved when things behave like back in my 20s. More measurable, the Garmin watch showed a distinct drop in resting heart rate from 50 all the way down to 40 BPM.

@@RobCGilliam okay.. well to me mainstream science, is crony science. there is no evidence cholesterol causes heart disease, only association studies. cholesterol being a problem in general makes no evolutionary sense, why would something we have evolved with all of a sudden cause us problem. and if you look back in history before we invented vegetable oil, heart disease was non existant.. soo - when everyone use nothing but saturated animal fats for everything, there was no heart disease? how does that fit into this LDL-scam? that is an amazing historic fact that throws this entire saturated fat witch hunt up in the air. its pretty clear to me, telling people to not consume saturated fats, increases the demands for seed oils, which is very profitable. its also very profitable for big pharma as it creates problems that needs to be addressed in peoples health. looking at people LDL is as reliable as a tarot card reader.

This is a prime example of where u can take all the science u want but doesn’t explain the outcome. Men’s test levels are in the tank. Eating highly processed foods made up of mostly synthetic carbs has got to be part of the reason 13 girls look 21 and 21 guys look 15. There seems to be some correlation if you start looking back from the 1930-40’s but we don’t know the causation. Just because we don’t have a study doesn’t mean it’s not what’s going on. I think it’s a small part of the master plan of the rich and powerful. Rice and potatoes are the only carbs u “need” for bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc. for people who don’t work out. U don’t really “need” it

Is it related to how science is communicated? Is it that people are extracting what they want to extract rather than what is said? Asprey does look older than his age, I would say he looks 58. It is a counter intuitive but not uncommon marketing technique among some selling antiaging products or services to encouage grey hair and to let their face look their age or older, but to maintain a fit body. Then someone, that does not know the influencer's age, will see a 60 year old face on a 40 year old body and conclude he must know some things about antiaging because he is really fit for 60.

the scary thing is that those people have millions of followers. If you want to lose weight putting butter in your coffee is the worse thing ever how many calories more are you consuming by doing that makes no sense at all.

K, Dave. If you don't know what "circumcision" is, maybe sit down and read a biology book, dude. I was worried I may have lowered my testosterone by getting my hair cut last week, but realised I'd been writing on blank - not lined - paper, which Dave knows RAISES test levels...

Haven't heard of that guy in a while, and I'm very glad because I think I lost some brain cells listening to that. Last one was from a What the Fitness episode, and before that on a podcast where he said that kale is as bad as smoking. Where are the fact checkers when you need them...no need to cancel him but declare his content as dangerous at least.
