For the longest I’ve been wanting the Crv after the remodel came out. I currently have a civic so I was like let me stick with Honda. But I do have a heavy foot and just hated how it lagged. And the reason why I wanted a CRV was for the bigger space and mostly AWD (I live in nyc) I saw this Mazda CX5 on the road and it made me reconsider. I love how it looked and the size as well. I’m here reading the comments and now want a cx5

I've owned a 2008 Mazda 3, 2016 Mazda 6, and a 2019 Mazda 6. Mazda has the best steering aorund. The touch and feel are unmatched. I'm now driving a 2022 Kia Stinger, which is ok but i do miss Mazda. Too bad they've stopped updating and selling the 6 in the States. They could have a real hit bringing it back, updated of course. And stop making silly decisions like using non touchscreens, using the same old 6 gear, calling 250hp a turbo option, and always being the last implementing common tech features. Mazda is already unique, they just need to be a pioneer/leader. I'll very likely never buy a Honda or Toyota. Just not my style but i do like the lifted look of the Crown. It's a modern take on the look of the sedan and i think should be copied. SUVs and their expanding sizes are ridiculous at this point. Lifting the sedans slightly would help with visibility when driving behind these behemoths on the rode.

I got a brand new 2024 cx5 10 days ago I had a 2022 CX5 that I was plowed into head on. The airbags worked! On Day 4 connectivity issues with a certified Apple cable and IPhone 11. Today while driving the info screen went black. I had a 2019 Subaru that experienced the same, went from digital to analog lost all the safety features on the Subaru and went through three car batteries in 3 days because the Subaru info center was draining the battery even when parked. I now have zero confidence in this Mazda-but lucky for me I know how to go through the steps to declare an auto as a lemon. I hate this Mazda with its new car smell. And all the dealerships in Los Angeles are lying like this is an isolated issue.

Unfortunately, like other manufacturers they are making the cars more expensive. No base model anymore. The changes are minor and cosmetic (new Carbon turbo trim level, really?) the touchscreen "enhancement" is adding touchscreen capabilities with Apple and Android, which any manufacturer but Mazda has had for years. Last year for the current gen, Mazda announced next year all new CX-5.

I've owned three CX-5's. A 2017 Touring, a 2019 GT and a 2022 Signature. Just a few things I didn't really like about them. 1. stiff ride. Got much stiffer after the 2017. 2. fuel economy with the turbo. If you do a lot of HW driving not a problem. If you do mostly city driving it's fairly hard on gas. 3. front seats have to move way up if the rear seats are down and flat. 4. the USB ports are inside the center console. 5. the engine shuts off when remote start (Mazda App) is used when the door is opened...even if you have the fob on you. 6. the rear wiper seemed weak on all 3 I owned. 7. the rear USB ports and the heated seat buttons are in the rear console, so having a 3rd person sitting in the rear makes those impossible to use. 8. the paint was thin and fragile (2019 was a soul crystal red). 9. the NA engine would perform much better with an 8 speed transmission. 10. the seats in the 2019 and 2022 were somewhat hard and uncomfortable for longer trips. 11. Bose system doesn't sound that great. Had a 2021 Acura RDX ELS system that was light years better. 12. 2022 head unit would reboot often while driving. This was just my personal experience with owning three of them. That said, I really liked all three. All three were reliable. I'm waiting for the CX-70 and will most likely buy another Mazda soon. No car is perfect.

Hmm. In my experience, the ride got softer from 2017 and beyond. And again for my my 2020 and 2023 which feel the same save for the move to 19" wheels which just makes you feel more of the road's imperfections. The body roll is too much for my liking and I will probably do some suspension mods to improve that. But I'm probably in the minority since I come from a performance car background.

@@matsudakodo I never really noticed the body roll to be an issue, at least for me. I am a somewhat slower driver though, so that's probably why. "has FIXED the Tech"? Where is that portion at? Wireless android is not a fix, just an evolution. My 2019 CX5 GTR has a few quirks that my dealer wouldn't fix under warranty. 1. The infotainment screen sometimes goes into berserker mode. Known as "ghost" touches. The user has ZERO control when it randomly blips from screen to screen, calls people....hangs up. If you are driving during this time, it's extremely distracting and nerve wracking. And the only way to get it to stop is to turn the car off. Although you can do a hard reset, it doesn't resolve the issue. My dealer kept brushing me off until it was out of the warranty window. Then they were all too happy to "diagnose" my screen and replace it for $1,500. 2. The automatic folding side mirrors. You can't turn this feature off. On some days....they might not cycle all the way out, or in. Kind of get stuck in the middle. You can use the cycle knob to put them where they belong. Again, my dealer blew this issue off until it the warranty ran out. 3. And this one is more rare. I would have never thought having a radar in the car would be a thing. The radar tracks and maintains a fixed distance to the vehicles in front of you. Up to and including stopping! If you're in stop and go traffic, this thing is the CHIT! When the gap opens up, the car moves forward again. Anyways, the radar unit decides it can't see what's in front of it and disables this feature. Cruise control still works, but without the automatic distancing thing. 4. If the car is running and you step out, it beeps at you......a lot. The car knows that the key fob is not with the car. So why can anybody just hop in and drive away? As long as they never turn the car off, it's theirs. There should be some kind of electronic interlock with the shifter that will not allow the car out of part if the fob is not detected. My little rant, thanks everybody for reading to the end.

It gets pretty cold here in north-western Illinois, and I can care less about having the cabin warmed up before I drive. That's why we have winter coats.
