The Classic Pass is amazing!

With a slight change in handling you can actually do the classic pass invisibly without the snap motion, which is audible in your vid. All it takes is to drop the hands slightly, and have the fingers of your right hand further forward to provide shade. It also helps to immediately spread the cards, which you can do by saying, "You could have had any of these right?" (or whatever). The trouble with the snap motion is it's impossible to hide the momentary jerk, so as you say, someone burning your hands might spot it. A smooth motion leading into a larger motion, such as spreading the deck, is more effective imo.

Very nice explanation of the pass. It is a very useful move for all card performers. You do need a split second distraction to do it, as it is not invisible. There is always some movement which might be noticed, even if they don't know what you've done, they know you've done something. Great vid as always.

This is a very clear explanation of the pass, nicely done ... Personally I have always thought the pass is an overrated move and most of the time is used by magicians to show to each others and claim the title of best, fastest, or most invisible (no psss is invisible) my idea of the perfect pass is I had the deck to the spectator and have them cut the deck "BANG" pass done and no one saw anything (LOL), just the same this was a good explanation ... PS Paul is right as are you, so much of magic is controlling the audience, if a magician has a hard time controlling the audience they are in the wrong profession ...

Oh yes, I absolutely agree with the last statement! Thanks!

Thanks for actually showing a POV demo of this. Do you have a recommendation as to what the roadmap to learning card magic could be for a beginner?
@CardMechanic4 жыл бұрын
Definitely a great question! I would recommend taking at look at “Royal Road to Card Magic”. If you want personal coaching from me on guiding you through the process, you can always join the Underground Club (link in the description). Hope this helps!!

Although there is a way to make it less visible, if you have seen the Russian genius, he does it really well. It is a mix of herman, classic and a dribble. You hide the top packet in the palm of your right hand and perform the classic pass as soon as the top packet has reached the your palm dribble.

It is in any video of his but his explanation kind of slipped for his version when he did a video of the classic pass. If you want a full length tutorial there is one for $14

You shouldn’t see the fingers pulling the top half down. The Classic Pass is a flipper motion, based on tension & pressure, not based on speed or pulling the top half around the bottom half.

I did the pass and i did a cut and riffle shuffle and it makes my spectator confused thanks for the tutorial

Hey, loved your video. Can you also upload a video of your performance so we can understand how you're misdirecting while you're doing the pass. Also, I'm able to make it look almost invisible but it makes a snapping noise when the upper packet is switched, how can I get away with that ?
@eripmavinacriss3 жыл бұрын
im 9 months late but if it helps i like to do a riffle or a spring after the pass to cover up the thwack noise

Dude says you don't have to do it at Superhuman speed I just do it like this then proceeds to do it at SUPERHUMAN speed like 5 times in under a second, good job making us feel inadequate Superman!
