Thank you Shri Antony Muniyara for bringing out the video on Shri Paulose cardamom fields.You have also released a video on this field when the plants were just four months old. The farmer is very much empowered on ecofriendly cardamom cultivation and that is where he emphasizes on soil health management, need based plant protection, maintaining higher Organic carbon and ideal pH by incorporating organic matter covering the soil which not only improved soil, maintained soil moisture but also encouraged root growth. The farmer facilitated the natural control of borer (biological control) by reducing chemical pesticides. He has not used any Chemical fungicide or Chemical nematicide in the soil. The capsule setting is also very encouraging without any chemical hormones. Judicial use of bioconsortia for nematode and azhugal fungi are the strategy adopted by the farmer so that crop loss due to Azhugal or nematode (kurunaambu) is avoided.
