This is one hell of a truck, definitely would like to own one someday. This crushes everything else and makes current gen raptor look like mince meat. I've watched a lot of American reviews on these and I strongly believe it's the conversation that's messed up the steering, but hopefully the company which does the conversion can get it right in the future. But it's the perfect truck, its big, powerful, stylish imo, brilliant interior and it's just doesn't seem cheap like the mid sized utes. Ram put a lot of money and time into every aspect of this truck. Great review Paul!

Shareholders of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA, the French maker of Peugeot, Citroën and Opel cars, voted on Monday to merge in an effort to acquire the scale necessary to survive in an industry gripped by technological change and pummeled by the pandemic. So its a merge and not bought by Peugeot.
@KevinSmith-qi5yn
@KevinSmith-qi5yn 2 жыл бұрын
Merged, FCA had more income and no debt going into the merger. The merge for FCA had more to do with getting a leap frog in electrification, updating car platforms, and refreshing the upper management. For PSA it was the capital that FCA offered. The revenue from the Ram 1500 and Jeep Wrangler provides a very high profit margin. It probably just said acquired on the paperwork so the French Government approves the merger.

FCA (Stellantis) did wonders for RAM.......they were always competitive, but just not quite there. Had a 2007 F250 PowerStroke in 2007, and it was a refined truck for a truck....but these are another league. Living in Australia now, since 2011, didn't think we'd ever get these guys here.....with choices from the Big 3, F Series and Silverado and the RAMs, you have to be crazy to get anything from the bowtie or Blue oval when we have these as a choice. Even the standard half ton is great, as is this TRX. Sadly we cannot get the Eco-Diesel, which I'm not sure you can in the states anymore either. But would have been best motor for Oz. Better economy, just, and seemingly more fitting for us to have a Fiat Diesel as well. Don't get me wrong, the Cummins is world's better, but not sure most would choose it here, as you have to step up to a 3/4-1 ton to get the Cummins, whereas the Eco-Diesel was on the half tons. While the payloads are beat by utes here, the towing capability is insanely better than our mini trucks like the Hilux, Ranger et cetera. Wanted a new RAM but was waiting for this model over the DT. Great review def helped my decision. Will be getting either a TRX or a 3/4 ton with the Cummins, with options rivaling luxury cars. Only issue?? Parking in inner Sydney; carparks won't be your friend, height or width wise, but for everything else....no problems. And thankfully not a lot of valet, as I wouldn't trust a valet here with it. But great review of a world class truck. Australia can keep their mini trucks, this is a REAL truck.

A non factory backed conversion, and it shows. Rack rattle etc, and they don’t bother changing controls, such as seat heating etc to correctly depict whether u r adjusting the driver or passenger seat. And SCD just announced that by mid 2022, they will cease converting Rams, and then concentrate on converting Ford F series vehicles. Buying a Ram with a factory backed re manufacture to RHD by Walkinshaw seems to be a much smarter purchase of this type of vehicle.

For a off road vehicle it has the softest tailgate opening, I haven't seen another truck like it that opens that soft.

You can almost feel that this was designed by a bunch of absolute nutters. Mega props to FCA for building this.

What I liked about Mr Rex's nearly every thing if they can sort the steering out and the driver settings on the screen I might have to pull half my savings out. But I'll wait till you test the night edition. The fact that you can do some off roading in a truck like this and be home in time for the pork roast looking like you just stepped out of the shower 🚿 it is a testament to the guys who created this machine. Yes thanks for the review I'll be keen to see how the night edition goes.

I think it's a case of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Good that people can buy what they want, bad that it would seem to go against the push for reduced emission vehicles (actual pollutants rather than CO2 although others would also consider CO2 bad) and the ugly if it's involved in an accident with small/medium vehicles.

Pretty sure you missed the rear seats recline a little. The handle you pulled to lower when you lifted the seat up. Also reclines the chair when in the down position and someone sitting in it and reclines it.

Would love to see Dodge gain a foothold in South Africa and introduce some more variety and competition in the bakkie (pickup truck) segment.

And people need to stop whingeing about the payload of these proper "trucks". Granted 600kgs isn't a lot, but get the 1 ton with the Cummins, Rams website states a ~17k kgs towing capacity. No ute here comes close, even remotely. Granted the Australian version states 8k kgs, which I believe is for the legality of weight being towed here. Anything more I think you'll need an appropriate licence. In the US you can pull that max with a normal licence. But 8k kgs is nothing to sneeze at. And that doubles most Utes towing capacity here. And their payloads are about 3-400 more kgs, but you can easily get a flatbed trailer and tow much more than the trucklettes.

Toyota doesn't do very well in the pickup truck market in North America. Going back to pre-pandemic (2019), US sales numbers were: 1/ Ford F-series: 580,000 2/ Ram: 426,000 3/ Chevy Silverado (should really be combined with GMC): 395,000 4/ GMC Sierra: 162,000 5/ Toyota Tundra: 90,000

Payload isn't great, but nothing comes close with what these can tow.....kills any ute here in Oz, especially the 3/4 to 1 ton with the Cummins......that's the workhorses. It can't carry in the bed but it sure as hell can pull from behind it, Utes here don't hold a candle in comparison!

@@Audios81 I think you are joking, seeing how these have fall in off a cliff as far as sales go ( RAM 1500 165 sold this month) oeople are realising thwy are not that brilliant
@Audios81
@Audios81 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertryan7204 you do realise that all, that's All vehicles have been slow to come into Australia?? Some have a year or more wait..... It's not just the RAM, they cannot keep them in stock, they sell so fast. Currently a 9 month wait. I know, I'm waiting for one. Bought and paid for already. And those with little clown cars like a RAV 4, same issue, no stock. So many manufacturers are very low on inventory. Have you been under a rock the last year or so?? But not going to debate economics with you. It's usually the one who could never dream of affording any car over 100k that whinge the most about those that cost over that amount. And there's no reasoning with ignorance.
