It’s ironic you raise the payload as a negative. 790kg is substantially more than you get in a Landcruiser 300, Y62Patrol, Prado, Everest or any other direct competitor that I am aware of. In fact, it’s up there with or better than the 1500 full size trucks from the US as well. The payload on the Tank 500 is therefore one of its relative strong points.
@CarExpertAus4 ай бұрын
That's a good point. It's just worth pointing out given it has a 500kg lower towing capacity and it was called out in the Tank 300 review that we didn't mention it. We'll be including this in all of our reviews moving forward where towing is a factor.
@AidanCran4 ай бұрын
For many many years, the 200/300 series could tow 3500kg, so say 10% on towball, that would leave you only 260/300kg payload remaining which is literally nothing for what most would say is the best and biggest tourer. This 790kg payload is probably the biggest when comparing similar type of cars (not utes)

On the tailgate thing, I understand the issue of needing a tailgate's width behind the car to open it. But is it really much more than a lift tailgate where you need a tailgate's height behind the car? Plus with a lifted tailgate there can be problems with low ceilings, e.g. a multi-story car park. And with a swing tailgate you can partially open it, which is less of an option with a lift tailgate. Not sure. I've only ever had hatchbacks.

All car manufacturers auto reset nowadays, or they can't get their coveted 5 star safety rating. Your only solutions are wait for an aftermarket OBDII dongle or reflash to have them switch to default off. That's why I disregard those ratings nowadays.

For many years, in the roof of the world in Xizang, China, and the hot and dry desert in Xinjiang, in these most harsh environments, tank brand vehicles have almost replaced these Japanese vehicles. In addition, tank brand cars have now appeared in large numbers in the cold Siberia.

The top spec version of this is unreal with all the features. However, the powertrain remains a question mark. it's too thirsty.

So we should give Money to the fellas who supply Russia with tech and duel Usage weapons parts. Not on ya Nelly. These guys have chosen their path and it is against what our Anzac grandfathers fought for. Built a house recent and only thing I got from Gina was toilet.

You can still blame it as Chinese-made trash, but eventually, as customers, you will benefit from competition for the price in the automotive market.

Hi Paul, you make a comment in the video about the vehicle "runs out of steam" when the battery gets lower. Does this mean when towing for example you won't have access to full torque once the battery is depleted?

Take it to Savage Technologies and get a replacement black grill. Ditch that acreage of chrome.

Time will tell with any of the new products if these are reliable and if resale is good or bad. That tank feature was not that impressive as was not what I thought it was going to be and did not reduce the radius that much.

The front end is the only zonk of this vehicle, otherwise its very nice. I wouldn't buy this over the Prado though, will stick with the reliable 2.8 diesel.

I am a little confused as none of the other manufacturers seem to mention a payload capacity. Have seen this with LDV, GWM cars. Keen to know why? Does it mean these are poor or honest?

Just wondering... If the Tank 500 had a Toyota badge on it would this guy reviewed it differently. I wouldn't be surprised if he said it was the best Toyota ever made.

😃buy a tank 500, and wait for failure of all electronic staff, then you have a Prado.
