Cherry is very focused on low-cost ICE cars. Never mind that it would have made more sense to race the MG against a Porsche Taycan and an electric Ferrari, it does illustrate the challenge faced by legacy car brands-Rolls has a brand and that’s basically it. All the luxury features can be added to an electric motor and batteries-Chinese batteries, electric motors power Rolls, BMW, Ferrari, Tesla, Mercedes, Porsche, Bentley.

What is even point of this? Who‘s expecting a giant luxury barge to be quicker than a little sports car? Drag race a Ghost and an M4 Convertible and you‘ll get the same result? No RR has ever had the ambition to be the fastest anything. I think on the contrary, I‘m surprised how small the difference is here. And complaining about the price difference of the Rolls really makes no sense here either. Do you think that all that money went into the drive train? Or is it maybe that hand crafted interior, the unparalleled ride quality, the absolute silence inside? It is a start. Not all the uber chinese luxury evs are available outside of China or off the drawing board yet, to make valid comparisons. You will in due course see luxury evs being pitted against the spectre, if this brand is still in business. There will be cars like the Denza and from Zeekr and others which will match and surpass by far the luxury of the rolls but no the ludicrous price tag. They will decimate the rolls in a drag. You won't be saying those are irrelevant. The purchase is for what the product could do. In the above the rolls fails against the cheapest chinese competion. A large chinese luxury coupe sedan with three or four motors? The above comparison is probably the most relevant we need to see.

In fact, the price of MG Cyberster in China is only 45K US dollars, but its sales in China are very low because Chinese consumers are not interested in this electric sports car. They think that sports cars should have internal combustion engines and sound waves, so the 2.0T Porsche 718, which is twice as expensive as the Cyberster, has very high sales. The 2.3T Mustang is in the same price range as the Cyberster, but its sales are much higher. Moreover, the Cyberster is not a fast car. The same priced IM L6 Zeeker 001 SU7 and other sedans have 670~790 horsepower, which is much faster than the Cyberster. Causing Cyberster to be a product destined for failure😢
