I live in the UK and work next to an MG dealership. Most MG customers don't know that they are actually Chinese, they have done a good job masking it. The main issue with MG is reliability, but they do come with a 7 year warranty in the UK. People buy MG's because they offer great value for money and having a halo car like this does make them kind of cool, a lot of people are interested in them.

something I notice with these chinese brands, they dont skimp out on weird features. Like the multiple different ways to open doors or roll up the windows, most legacy manufacturers would just pick one and then you either make people that wanted a "regular" car control upset, or the people who wanted something weird upset. The chinese manufacturers seem to just throw everything at it while the prices stay reasonable.

For perspective , it's like bragging about the price of a car costing almost 300 grand in the US. I should also add that the 9k figure was the highest one I could find. Public sector workers in urban areas make around 6k USD on average. Now watch as I'm "countered" by extrapolating the average Chinese income from China's GDP figures rather than trying to find an actual figure. That is if they bother.

The Cyberster is very expensive here and as Doug says it’s a very heavy car weighing in around 4000 pounds or 2000kg-lots of heavy batteries! Regarding the screens, with the sat nav on the far right screen many have observed that it is blocked by the steering wheel, and the screen can’t be moved to the center screen like an Audi or VW. The tail-lights are hard to live with, they must have been designed by a 10 yr old.

1. The reason China has a reputation for cheaply made products is because that is what we pay for. They've always been capable (now more so than just about everyone) of making high quality goods, but western brands have only used them to cut costs. 2. The remote backup and go forward is actually super handy in Asia where most people don't have large American sized garages. Add on the lifting doors and this feature is basically mandatory for the average home with a narrow garage.

@kevinrooney6348Ай бұрын
A few reasons. Firstly Japan and Korea are American allies while China is an adversary (one with which the US has a very complex relationship due to the volume of trade between the two) so the government is very wary of which Chinese goods enter the US market. Secondly the perception of American consumers of Chinese goods as cheap and low quality. Third the fact that Chinese cars don't meet US auto industry regulations such as safety and standardization like bumper heights, lighting requirements etc. There are actually Chinese cars that are sold here or will be sold here but they were designed from the ground up to meet US regulations, and they are sold or will be sold by brands that don't have a reputation of being Chinese brands such as Buick and Volvo.
