Especially since the 3.0 V6 Diesel is in the newly announced Ford Everest Tremor based on basically the same vehicle! Not that I want either as the Twin Turbo Petrol is all I want on the next ute for me, but weird the Ranger went with the 4 cylinder.

They won’t sell many with the 4 cylinder in my opinion. The V6 diesel suits the car so much more you’d be better off getting a sport V6 and getting suspension mods and all terrain tyres put on by the after market.

Raptor is nice but has towing and carrying capacity limitations, TREMOR makes more sense in Australia, they need to offer it with V6 or forget it.

Great video mate. This feels like a great compromise for people who maybe want a dual-cab ute for work around town, but also has a little bit more capability for weekend play without having to dive too far into diff drops, tire offsets, and all the other endless 4WD mods.

In Europe it comes with a 2L engine, with a wet belt...huge pass. Those engines in the Transit been a mechanical nightmare.

@@johnpeters4214 Here in Europe the D-Max comes with a 1.9L engine. While not so long ago in Australia it was available with the 3.0L.

I think ford have had to add these value editions, as the current Ranger range has gone welll beyond the man in the street price, unless you have some kind of tax advantage , private ownership isn’t feasible even at 70 K it’s a big ask. No doubt one of the reasons ford dealers have stock coming out of their ears atm.

I actually in the market for a second work vehicle, I’ve been holding out for this Vehicle, why it doesn’t come with a V6 is a massive disappointment, what is Ford Australia thinking. Yes the biturbo js great when partially loaded, however there is no substitute for power and displacement.

Please do the Everest tremor on this track as soon as you can get your hands on one. Depending on it's gvm and gcm I'm excited about that car, like you say from factory and not voiding warranty. Might make a good family 7seater towing and light off-road beast.

Takes away driving skill I have a manual pro4x warrior and drive lerderderg a fair bit inc. The section Paul was in and use no hill decent with absolutely no issues & the np300s articulation is dope 🔥

I sound like a broken record, but after driving a 2 litre amarok for the last 6 or 7 years, I see a little bit of appeal in having 4 cylinder Although I don't have any experience with this Ford motor, I don't understand why they give the Everest the v6 and not the ranger Even way, looks like a nice Ute and probably suits a few buyers out there

The 4 cylinder definitely gives me Tremors. Highly stressed grenade engine….just like most new cars. Always choose a little more under stressed engine if available. If the V6 diesel was similarly stressed…It would be 235kw and 750Nm.

Howdy if Ford releases this in the US the price of Raptor will jump up quite a bit. Glad I was able to score a raptor at msrp here in the US. I’m estimating $65k-$70k for the Ranger Raptor by 2025/2026.

Interesting video and review. Not sure if you have noticed it, but in South Africa some people are having some issue especially in sand. The vehicle cuts all the power going to the wheels, this means that you cannot spin out of sandy situations when stuck (this is even with the TC etc turned off). Not sure if anyone in Aus have experienced the same?

They found the problem, it has something to do with a sensor in front. Gives a signal that stops the wheels from turning with low range on. Not exactly sure on the technicals of it.

We know your a Ford fan boy but for a stock equipped vehicle it's pretty good for the Temor . The price puts me off but most 4wd 4 door utes are overpriced anyway . We know Ford has bad reliability problems and dealer problems so it's a risk even in warranty . Waiting to see on-road review :-)

The FX4 package doesn't usually impact payload or tow rating other than the extra weight it introduces. Tremors usually lose a little of both and get a small lift (2" or so). Also, Tremor is only available on a short box and costs a lot more than the FX4. FX4 on my F450 was $495 usd.

Would you happen to know why the trail turn assist sounds like it is going to break something? I don't remember turn assist in Tank 300/500 sounds like that.

It’s the brakes actuating - because the rotor was wet it was far louder than when we tested it previously.

Did you notice the front get pushed around, it's not only braking the inside wheel, primary drive going to rear opposing wheel to push front around like that. Don't recall seeing any Tank turn that tight, basically the tank just drags on the braked wheel which does assist but it's not as aggressive as Ford's. Thumbs up to Ford, they've grabbed a Toyota top model feature only, greatly improved on it and placed it in a Ranger. Tank turn about to improve, they'll pinch Ford's tech.

I seriously only bought my 2022 rogue just because Toyota dealership net work in Australia is huge compared to other brands. Easy to get service and Toyota are generally pretty good with customer service. I also didnt have to wait 1 year for my ute, unlike other brands at the time. However i prefer the ranger v6 over the rogue anyday. Problem for me is every servicing time, i have to drive 50km to the next town to have it done if i get anything else but toyotas. in my opinion, all these dual cab should ditch the leaf springs setup and go with coils and add air bags for load carrying. Leaf springs is the only thing i dont like about my hilux.

@paulkarwacki7119 that's why I said it should come with coils and air bags. I find it dumb when toyota has like 5 variants of hilux and all of them aim at work carrying weights. Not everyone wants a dual cab for work mate. I need mine to tow long distances. Top of the range rogue still ride like a tank. At least make the top tier variants have coils or a options to have it with coils even if I have to pay a bit more.

@@mclongkock6678 Airbags are are just an extra complication. The ruggedness & load carrying capacity of leaf springs is legendary. Btw utes aren't meant for handling, their philosophy doesn't allow it.

@paulkarwacki7119 they're legendary because that is the only thing it's good for. Mate you really need to test drive the American trucks. I was about to trade my hilux in for a silverado or a ram. Test drove them both. They are like a limousine. Glides over everything and still can carry 700kg and pull 3.5t/4.5t with ease.

So my 2023 V6 Everest has all these features but are locked. Turn assist, different modes including mud/ruts and a sport mode etc. I wonder if Ford will allow them to be unlocked and if not, why not?

@@rich7447 I haven't no but others have. I am genuinely curious if unlocking features that exist within the vehicle but are locked, will void warranty? It would be difficult for Ford to argue that it would if other vehicles in other countries and even within Aus (i.e. the new tremor variant) have them unlocked snd useable.

@@MrNoidea247 I have the cable and FORSCAN, but have not modified anything yet. I plan to swap my tires from 225/70R19.5 to 265/7-R19.5 and can change the tire size to correct the speedometer. So far I haven't heard of any warranty denials due to modifying settings.

@@rich7447 I want to get it myself. I don’t care for the speedo since 33’s pretty much make the speedo accurate. I do want to turn assist and the extra modes though. Also can turn the ‘accessories’ on for 2 hours after ignition off. That would be very handy for fridges and usb charging etc. 2 hours won’t drain the battery. Speaking of which. The default charge max level is only 80%. I’d change that to 100% also

Here in Africa with the quality of our fuels this engine is failing in less than 2 years especially in my country Zimbabwe. The hilux is showing alot of tolerance to our Zimbabwe fuels.

Ford, whats with the floor mats? They have been included but the passenger one appears to be the same as drivers one, hence passenger carpet exposed still. That is a cost cutting short cut, truly individual matts too hard for design to comprehend. Suprised you don't call Ford out on that Paul.
