How do you build margin in your life and beat burnout?
If you talk to most leaders today-young leaders, older leaders, and pretty much everyone in between, they’re tired. Fatigued. Exhausted. Depleted.
The relief many leaders sought-changing jobs, moving cities, changing careers, working from home, vacations, Sabbaticals-didn’t solve the overwhelm and underlying dread a lot of us feel.
So what gives? What's going on?
The issue isn't how to spend your time off. It's how you spend your ON.
Time off doesn’t heal chronic overworking.
Changing jobs doesn't fix a life that's too busy.
Working from home doesn't provide relief from unhealthy patterns.
As tough as it sounds, some serious work may be needed.
But I promise, if you can fix how you spend your time, the future will be energizing.
Want a sneak peek at what I teach in my latest book, At Your Best?
In this short, 20 minute video, you'll get a few strategies that I teach in At Your Best to build more margin into your life.
If you can accept the fact that the issue may not be your time off, and are willing to open your mind to a few new strategies about how you spend your time, this is the place to start.

6/11 and knowingly making my way back from a greater level of burnout. Imagine being met with compassion instead of "suck it up" when you share youre burnt out! That is an amazing grace and one i hope to extend to others even when it didnt happen for me.

I really appreciate what I said here. Words of wisdom. The only thing I might amend is saying that I think it is OK and even good to tell others that we are spending time with our family. I think we all need to see models of that rather than modeling the expectation that we need to be busy with church things all the time or work stuff all the time or have something on the callendar in order to say no. Or you could simply say I’m using that time to rest and that is good too. That is part of fighting the people pleasing tendency. People might not initially understand, but they need to be shepherded to a place where they learn to understand, resting and being with family is perfectly good and right.

is there a good app we can use for this calendar? like, color coded for red, green, and yellow? I'm visual and it would be AMAZING to see it in color.
