Depends on the buyer as well, something like this is more subtle and those buyers won't want a rear that stands out. It looks nice but mainstreamish which is what those ones would like. The Phantom on the other hand is more exuberant and the rear is a similar story to this cars which isn't.

I think RR did and amazing job with the weight of the car. Yes, it's 2.5 tons. But that's actually pretty good considering the massive size of the body, a huge V12 engine, additional motors for the self and soft closing doors, the additional mass dampers on the suspension and seats, a whopping 120 kgs of sound insulation, and all the heavy luxury fit and finish etc. Considering all that, 2.5 tons is actually very good.

So it is. My apologies for this error. Curiously Rolls-Royce speaks about the “marque’s Bespoke Audio engineers” in its press release (I’ve just gone back and checked) and doesn’t make it clear that it’s a separate company. The Bespoke Audio Company, who I see are based down the road from Rolls-Royce in Sussex, doesn’t seem to make any reference to their work with the car company either. Odd. As you know Henry I am a regular and subscriber to your great cartube channel. But I feel like putting something back into the online car enthusiast community, and not be typically critical! I feel like throwing a big nugget in here to all cartubers, as I’ve not seen any of you run with it so far? Never in the History of the Automobile, in this Cov-19 Pandemic year, or never in my lifetime, I was born in 1965, has the Car become much more important to us all, other than just a means of transportation!! Many of us have been forced to live within the small boundaries of our houses and homes. Our cars are the PERFECT means with which we can all still safely go out and live somewhat during this time! With our Car’s inherent “safety cocoon”!! I am sure it has been more than just commuting, they are directly keeping us all sane, more healthy, contributing to our overall mental health and most importantly making us all feel more optimistic about our Post-Pandemic lives!!!! In my eyes, this has been the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! I should mention this as well. I am sure many of us here know of the inevitability of a financial depression recession world wide now. And many, many large and small companies going broke. Many larger companies crying they’ve had the worst sales this year in their short histories, ie Car Manufacturers. BUT! I am sure I am not alone in noticing this right now! Who knows of a family member or friend, that has bought a new or even brand new car this year? For me, 2 neighbors have bought brand new cars, my niece bought a brand new SUV this year, and I have seen more trailers with old cars ontop than ever before in my street!!!! I have even added an old classic car to my Dream Garage Collection this year!! I personally think we are all buying MORE cars this year then I can remember…No matter what the media is telling us all about, with our inevitable recession, and no one having any money to spend. In short..It really is the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! My 2 cents. I’ve put forward this year to our online car enthusiast community. And thank you, if you’ve read my longish comment this far and for the couple of minutes of your time!

It was Henry’s review of the Porsche Boxster GTS on Majorca several years ago that encouraged me to buy the Cayman version. God, that car sounded good! I even visited Majorca too and drove the same roads. Following this, if I had the funds, I’d be getting in touch with Rolls-Royce... wonderful stuff. I love the poring over the details. It’s the details that make a car like this what it is. In that sense, £250k doesn’t seem unreasonable. Maybe I need to work harder. Or win the lottery...

Beautiful car all around. Would like to see the propulsion evolve a bit though. Electric suits the Rolls perfectly, with effortless, silent torque from standstill. They could use half the V12 (inline 6, not V6, still perfectly balanced) as a range extender to address the current range and battery supply issue for now. It just needs enough EV range for the typical in-town trips. I know Rolls surveyed their owners before and the reception to PHEV was poor but that was over ten years ago I think. People are more receptive to plug-in’s today.
